I tell it to print the pages I want. If I click on "file" at the top of my browser, then select "print preview" first to check and see how many pages I'll need to get the whole blog post. That displays the pages as they will look after they are printed. Then I close that out, go back and select "file", then "print", tell it to print out pages 1-3 or whatever, and that gives me what I need. :)

I hope that makes sense. It's hard to explain this without a visual. LOL

qfbrenda - interesting...but I'm assuming you also get the comments? I don't want to print out 69+ comments, just the post.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I print blog posts out all the time including all of the MOTG suggestions. I love it that I end up with all of the pictures that she uses to illustrate her suggestions, but it doesn't print ads because Firefox blocks them. Maybe a different browser would print things better for you than your current one?

QM - that's it exactly - I would love to easily be able to print out the motg formulas, for example and hang them in my closet...having to access them all the time on my phone is more of a hassle. I also can't jot notes or modify the lists (i.e. if Angie recommends skinnies and I want to substitute a different cut pants, or a color combo, etc.)

I do try and cut and paste into a word document, it's just more messy and less formatted than I'd like.

Does that answer your question, Greg?

ETA - I guess if there's any benefit to working on printer-friendly posts, it's that you have the opportunity to embed YLF graphics into the document, so that even if I'm looking at a printed post, it's very clear where the information came from, and it's always in the back of my mind. When I cut and paste, some of that branding (graphics, etc) are lost, simply because I'm unable to grab them into Word.

I think for "Must Have" list posts, even a printable PDF file with check boxes would be nice ... and portable on a smart phone

Greg,
For myself, the two would serve different functions. There are certain blogposts that I would love to mark so I can refer back to them for inspiration or information, but there are also times that I copy and paste and print (usually lists) to hang in my closet or stick in my purse to reference when shopping.
Of course, a smart phone would give me the best of both worlds, but that isn't going to happen any time soon.
Just my 2 cents...

Mamapicklejuice, this is a nice idea. I have added it to my list.

I do wonder whether it isn't revealing a hole somewhere else though. Some people have also asked for a "favorite" button so that you can save some blog posts into an easily accessible list. My instinct is that this would be easier to manage than a physical file of printed posts. Would you agree?

And what if this list of favorite posts was *really* easy to access on your phone?

Not sure if this has come up before, but would it be difficult to develop printer-friendly blog posts (with clickable "print post" button)? Of course, Angie's lists are often rich with embedded links - which would get lost in a printed version - but even so, I often want to print out and carry a "must have" or "top 10" or "fall season xyz" list with me, vs. trying to pull it up again on my phone, etc. There's something about being able to cross out an item on a "must have" list that is very satisfying!

Thanks for reading, Greg.
