It just happened to this 2 day old post http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ng-grandma
It was grey before and now turned green and I am sure I didn't click it to set the status back to unread.

Sometimes it is an old thread, but sometimes they are really not that old. Next time I notice it happens I will look up how old the last response was.

I remember when posts would sit on the front page for days. Look how far YLF has come!

HeleenH, if it was a long time, then it may be that we stopped tracking that thread, and then later someone replied and brought it back to the front. If this happens then it looks like a new (unread) thread.

Another question about the statuses, sometimes I have read a post and it turns grey, but the next time I read on YLF, it is green again. Is this because it is too long ago that I read the thread of posts or for some other reason?

Hi Girl X. Right now what you are seeing is the way it is designed. So your computer isn't wonky. :-)

It is quite costly to keep track of every member's status per topic, so we have to limit it to some extent. The logic of the current design is that if you haven't at least opened a thread before it leaves the first page then we don't need to track it for you. Of course, this was set up back in the days when the first page contained a full day of posts!

Now that the front page only has about two hours of posts we probably need to revisit this limit. I will add this to my list.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Greg

On page 1 the full colour key is used, with every post having it's own indicator, but from page 2 on, only the 'conversation has new posts' grey square is there, and the other posts have no indicator key behind the reply number. Is there any way for the full colour key to be there for at least a few more pages? Or is it already that way for everyone else and my computer is a bit wonky?

Thanks!
