Hi Ana - thought I would add my thoughts as well even though they are late. I am a pretty pear and have tried the swishy skirt many times in hopes that it would work and it is far to much fabric. I ended up looking wider than I am. I bought the inverted pleat skirt that Sarah suggested this summer and it is wonderful. I have bought it in almost every color and it is fabulous. The winter version is also lined making it great for tights.

That was what I was afraid of--too much volume on the bottom half, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the feedback, ladies!

Ana, the silhouette itself is good for a pretty pear, but this particular style has too much fabric. Too much swoosh. You end up feeling bigger than you are. Sarah’s suggestion is a better option.

Hey Ana, I've tried this style and it never really worked for me. This style was better
http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/.....Skirt.html
I don't know why, but maybe that will help? I'm probably not as "pear" like as your friend, though.

Of course I'd also appreciate any opinions from the other fine ladies on this board! :)

I saw this skirt in Boden's catalog yesterday:

http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/.....Skirt.html

My friend is a textbook pretty pear, size 12 on top, and size 14 on bottom. I was wondering if this style of skirt (in the denim fabric) would work for her? She currently has a denim skirt that is the same style, only it's very long, about lower calf-length. It is worn out and faded, but she really loves the style, and wants to replace it with something similar. I thought this might work, especially because it would be a more flattering length.

Thanks for any feedback, ladies!
