Not Angie, but I also have muscular legs, including calves. I am looking for a pair of oxfords, and I'm planning on choosing a tone close to my skin color (maybe a little darker) and a mid-weight shoe. If I choose an oxford that looks like a jazz dance version, I know it'll make me look burlier. A little more height in the sole will be better cushioning and better balance! Of course, the cheaper ones are lightweight!

Incidentally, I have a similar strategy with heels. A little more substantial thickness in the heel looks better. Stiletto sandals make me look like I'm going to break my shoes!

Thanks, Suz. Great thoughts!

Cranberries, to Suz's point, it all depend on which oxfords you buy, how you want to wear them, and what your style preferences are.

Not Angie...but I suspect she will say it all depends! You can't post photos here until you've been a member for a few days, but if you can link to a photo sharing site, we'd have a better idea of what you mean.

Maybe an oxford in a low contrast (to your skin tone) would be best to try first if you are afraid of making your legs look heavy or stumpy. Either that or low contrast to any bottoms you might be wearing (if you intend to wear mainly with skinnies or leggings).

Hello!

I am planning to buy a pair of oxfords but I'm afraid it might not look good on me. I have a warm skin tone and muscular legs. I'm thin but my legs are really noticeable. Will oxfords work on me? As for the top and bottom, I'm not sure which one to wear. What I'm picturing in my mind is a tunic or any long top and leggings.
