I have leggings in varying lengths depending on what I'm wearing them with, season, etc. In the summer, I tend to go with just below the knee. Fall and winter I wear them ankle length. I also have some tops that just look better with the mid-calf look. I have many pairs in many colors, including patterns; they have become a staple for me.

Have you tried these? I have a version from an earlier season, and they don't seem to have a sheen.

Gryffin, thank you. Maybe I need to look for cropped instead of capri. One of the issues I am having is I do not want any shine and most of what I have seen look matte until they are stretched, then they have a sheen.

Ooohhh, the legging princess just weighing in!! I like my leggings cropped to the same length as Angie - just below calf muscle. I think it creates a long elegant line. I usually wear danskin leggings. Not as good a quality as they used to be but the best I've found. I like the supplex. They have two lengths - capri - just below knee and cropped at low calf.
http://www.amazon.com/Danskin-.....038;qid=14... this is the link for the cropped. Hope that helps!!

I personally like my cropped leggings just below the knee (clamdigger length) as I think that's most flattering for my particular leg shape, and if I'm wearing them in summer I don't want too much coverage anyway. I wear those with sandals or flats (oxfords or slip on sneakers).

Otherwise I like full length (to the ankle at least) if wearing with booties because I like them to look like tights. I feel like dress + cropped leggings + booties = too many horizontal lines.

With dresses, in the summer, I personally like them just below the knee. I think longer ones look good in cooler seasons. So you need both

I like my own cropped leggings just below the calf muscle, so a little longer than the model is wearing them here. I wore this outfit over the weekend and loved it.

Great question, deb. You're asking them to work with multiple shoe options, but it sounds like you don't want a full length/ankle length pant. I feel like the bootie scenario is the most limiting. There seems to be much more length leeway with flats, and certainly with knee-length boots. Given that, I'd likely hem for the length you prefer for the booties. You can always tuck under a bit if you want them shorter for flats.

Looking forward to Angie's thoughts.

A few days ago Shannon started a conversation about capri leggings worn with dresses. There were several recommendations so I went out today to see what I could find. The Lysee capris hit me just below the knee and that seemed too short. Two SA's searched for other leggings that were longer and not too thin with no luck. Also, the SA's had various ideas on the length of a capri legging or pant. I finally tried on the NYDJ ponte legging and like the heft and feel but they are only in the long length. I purchased a pair in a size 6 (I wear a 10 or 12 pant) to bring home to try with my dresses, skirts and tunics. My dilemma now is what length to have the altered to. I want to wear them with booties or flats and tall boots, of coarse. I did walk the mall popping in to all the stores but every pair I was shown had visible stitching and looked to work-out. So the real question is, where should a capri end on the leg?
