I would probably wear a dressy black trench coat but you might think of getting one of those long cardigans to wear with this dress. They come in different fabrics and warmth levels. A kimono jacket is another idea if you want to keep it on indoors.

How about a dressy blazer or trench coat?

I’m clearly not Angie, but my take would be to wear a warm full-length coat, both for the warmth and also to make a bit of a splash when taking it off in the big reveal. Enjoy your event!

I will most likely take it off, unless it's very cold indoors. Thanks for the question!

Not Angie, but a quick question that may help: Are you wearing the jacket to/from the event, for warmth, but leaving it at a coat check during the event, or will you be wearing the jacket indoors, over the dress, throughout the dinner?

What style jacket would match this dress? I am totally clueless and the weather is necessitating that I wear something over it. Please help! I'm wearing it to a dinner with black heels. It is a formal event but the jacket doesn't need to be super dressy.
