I've had the best luck with longer v-neck cardigans because their length helps balance out my shoulders. What has not worked at all for me is really cropped cardis with short sleeves. Every time I put one one, I feel like a little football player and take it back off. They tend to make me look boxy, too broad up top. I have more success with jackets that provide structure and a waist and then there are the great "knit" jackets that are out there (look like a blazer but are sweatshirt or sweater material).
