Quite a range of earring colours would go with this gown. (I couldn't resist showing earrings in a pattern that mimics lace - a design element which I especially like.)
http://www.weddingdress-bridal.....864309.jpg
http://photos-2.posh24.com/p/1.....houlde.jpg
BTW, with coloured stone earrings, if your eyes are blue or green, check that the blue or green colour of the stones is not too "strong" for your eye colouring. Brown eyes are not a problem, but blue or green eyes can look faded, murky or muddy when seen next to the purer blue or green of a gemstone. You can see examples of this effect in the photos in the next link. For blue and green eyes, amethyst, garnet, aquamarine and tourmaline are sometimes easier gemstone colours to wear.

What color shoes are you wearing? I would love to see matching (or side by side on the color wheel) colors for earrings and shoes. Sapphire or emerald sounds lovely.

In October I am going to my brothers formal wedding. I am wearing this floor length dress. I am wearing my hair up in a chignon and wanted to wear some large tear drop earrings. The dress has black and some gold in it... what color earrings should I do? Play it safe with like a citrine/champagne gold tear-drop or give it a splash of color like sapphire or emerald? I was going to skip a necklace and maybe do a cuff bracelet.

What do you think?

here is another picture of the dress
