We are heading to South Africa in February for three weeks to visit family in Cape Town, do the Garden Route, take DS on a game drive and spend some time at the beach, go to a wedding and vineyard. Lots to pack in just a carry on, not to mention the long flights and cold stay over in London! The last couple of trips I over packed so this time I'm determined to have an efficient travel capsule. The quality of the light and the sunshine in South Africa&nbsp;is unique.&nbsp;Do kiss it hello from me. The Cape - especially Cape Town -&nbsp;is my favourite part of SA.&nbsp;Your outfits sound just right, and I'm glad you're enjoying your holiday.&nbsp;</p> <p>For our 2.5 week visit in hot and humid KZN,&nbsp;I wore&nbsp;the same casual Summer outfits that I do back home in Seattle,&nbsp;Hil. White or blue rolled boyfriend jeans with a roomy crisp&nbsp;shirt or breezy&nbsp;cotton knitwear, belt and white loafers. I also wore checked skinnies with cotton knitwear and&nbsp;silver oxfords. (It always cools down at night by the coast). I brought a light&nbsp;moto jacket for cooler days, and wore the same black and white graphic tote the entire time. No heels at all. For the most part it was 24&nbsp;- 28&nbsp;degrees and humid.&nbsp;</p> <p>It was not hot enough for my dresses or denim shorts unfortunately. I only wear those when its 30 degrees plus. I do not wear sandals.&nbsp;</p> <p>My hair and make-up - "polish" as you put it -&nbsp;were just the same. No changes there&nbsp;-&nbsp;although my punk-esque spike curled in the humidity, so I had to adjust the style a little&nbsp;while I was there. We've been here a week and the clothes I packed have held up well for the trip. Cut offs and cropped jeans and joggers are great bottoms and simple tank tops are ideal for tops. A hoodie and a cardi, stuck in my bag for breezy evenings. My go to shoes have been my Birk-alikes and thong sandals. </p> <p>I brought along a couple of sarongs and beach cover ups but I often find the cover ups are too glam for a simple sea side vac and I imagine they would be better suited to a resort type holiday. Today's beach outfit was a pair of shorts, a tankini top and a soft hooded jersey knit for when the wind came up. </p> <p>I'm finding less is more in terms of hair- just a small blob of gel to scrunch my wet hair... maybe a quick blast upside down under the hair drier. More than that seems over done. And no makeup except a bit of BB cream for its sun protection. </p> <p>I love the relaxed vibe of coastal towns - how anything goes in terms of style.</p> <p>Tonight I went on an impromptu date with my DH and I just grabbed my black maxi dress and a soft grey and white hooded jersey and the Birk-alike sandals and off we went. Nothing like a date night in Joburg. </p> <p>So Angie... this got me thinking about your recent seaside holiday in the south coast of KZN - and how that went with your polish and innate fabulousness... what did you wear? How did you style yourself. </p> <p>And to everyone else... Please share your vacation wardrove thoughts. </p> <p>PS - the pics were from a boat trip out through the Knysna Heads this afternoon.
