Not Angie, I agree with kellygirl though not to break it up with the cobalt band.
Maybe there is a different way to incorporate cobalt into the dress (the dress does sound flattering and comfortable).

Another option could be a skimming/draped dress to the knee with the cowboy boots, maybe something asymmetrical.

It sounds like a fun wedding, and how cool to be involved with the music at the event.

Not Angie but sounds like a great dress. I don't know whether I would break up the column with a cobalt banding. Soft pleats will add a little structure but a bias cut skirt might be more flattering. I think a dark denim shirt dress would fit the theme as well--as long as you could find a suitably dressy fabrication. I think the neckline sounds perfect for an IT/apple. Just an IT's 2 cents.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to be here and I just know your input is going to be so valuable to me! I am an inverted triangle with the waist of an apple. I've lost and kept off 83 lbs but have 50 more to go. I am in a wedding in May and am the sister of the bride. I am not in the wedding but will be the musician/soloist/pianist for the wedding and will be in family photos. The wedding is an outdoor barn-style wedding wherein the groom and his men will be wearing new dark blue denim jeans, long sleeve black dress shirts and black cowboy boots. The bride's attendants will be wearing a black dress of some sort (still shopping). Being an Inverted Triangle with Apple tendencies, I was thinking of a drop-waisted dress with a pleated hem (soft pleats for volume) in a soft black denim and with a slender V-Neck and 3/4 length sleeves. Her accessory color is cobalt blue and so I was thinking of a cobalt blue banding at the seam between the dropped waist and the skirt part of the dress. I am only 5'5" to 5'6" and so I don't want it too short but not too long either. I am choosing to wear black cowboy boots (possibly with cobalt blue stitching). I have broad squared shoulders and no waist at all (even when at ideal weight, my rib cage is so broad, very little definition. When at my best, I feel like an amazon woman, but firm. My legs are my best attribute and my bust, though thick and broad, has very little "boob", even tho I can get the fat to fit into a 36 C bra pretty well - as I said, mostly fat! What is your opinion?
