I think this is useful as I feel like I am shopping (and tossing!) all the time even though I have a tiny closet and have to have it fresh and fairly organised too! I feel a lot the same that really cheap things and for me tshirts move out much more quickly. I think my main thing is that I get BORED! and at the same time hate having stuff that isnt worn... Anyhow, like everything else YLF I LOVE hearing what everyone does. I had been living out her in lala-land who is interested in this stuff and boy-oh-boy you all know and discuss SOOO much. I love it. And Angie, really your review of NYFW was great! And welcome Jen from another jen (and my super dog Ed!)

I'm a very new member chiming in on your post, hope you don't mind, I would like to know it the BB tailored shirts run to size, run small or run large. I am usually a US 4. Can you also recommend a brand of black turtleneck. Thank in advance.

Sure! Glad it makes sense. Thanks for the compliment about our NYFW coverage :)

I don't keep count of those types of numbers, I'm afraid :(. Off the top of my head, I think I have 6 pairs of blue jeans. Two pairs of legging jeans. I have three white BB's button down shirts and about 5 black turtle necks - if that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply!! (Really loved the updates/photos from NYFW).

Yes it does make sense--very much so!

What would you guess as far as numbers are concerned (tops, pants, skirts, dress)? Or, even within a small space, is this too daunting a question?

Hi! Yes! NYFW chaos is over and I am back to commenting regularly on the forum. Thanks for chiming in again.

I share a very small walk in wardrobe with Greg and do not swap out seasons. Everything is in my wardrobe apart from coats, underwear, socks and one ball gown. My 41 handbags are in there too, plus all my footwear, scarves and necklaces. We live in 1600 square feet so that should give you an idea of how small our walk in wardrobe is.

I never resell clothing. It's passed on to friends or charity.

I edit monthly. I edit a few things at a time and add in a few items at a time. I never buy lots of stuff at once. I really think about "the piece". The process stays very constant.

I replace basic white shirts and turtle necks fairly often. Can't stand them looking shabby as they are an integral part of my style and need to stay looking tip top.

I can't remember the last time I bought jeans. They last forever it seems - and I am much more into non-denim bottoms at the moment.

I practice the one in one out wardrobe principle so that my wardrobe does not overflow. I have a hard time tolerating clutter. It makes me feel out of control - and I am a complete control freak.

Some items last a season before I am sick of them, while others stay in my wardrobe for years. Some for close to a decade. I also have an 18 year old bag that I still wear.

My style mixes high and low end pieces. The stuff that I tire of more easily is the lower end stuff. But I like to reinvent my high end pieces with a new support act - like going to Zara and getting the new on trend blouse to wear with my golden oldie tuxedo blazer.

Hope that makes sense. It must sound like a rambling chaotic mess!! But the method seems to work for me.

Hi Angie,

I posted this a few days ago, but I fear it was lost in the NYFW chaos (fashionable as it was!).

I was wondering:

a) How often you purchase new clothing and sell/give away other clothing?

b) How big is your wardrobe at the moment?

Why I ask: You mentioned once that you need to stick to your share of the small closet (unless I am misremembering?), yet at the same time, you're in the fashion industry and constantly have these great outfits. The two seem mutually exclusive, unless once is constantly getting rid of things, although you seem to cherish quite a few quality pieces.

Hope this isn't too personal a question!
