One way I can tell if boots are too tall is when I try them on and sit down, the tops of the boots dig into the backs of my knees. "Knee-length" boots shouldn't actually come all the way up to your knees. Sometimes if boots are too tall, they can sag and wrinkle around the ankle. Some people like this look, but it's not really for me. They were tall boots and under the knee so when are they too tall? I apologize that I can't remember to whom they belong but her issue was the wrinkling. You said the problem was the height. How do I judge this? I'm short so this could easily happen to me. Thanks! </p>
