thank you all! i guess it is the matter of different fabric (and maybe a small 26!) the curent pair is made of very thickand unstretcable fabric, the previous one had a bit of stretch in it.

the problem is, that the jeans look really-really lovely and it is not possible to exchange them for a bigger size i put them on fot a few hours and i think i´m going to keep them anyway, hoping that they will stretch a bit

Size specifications can change over time - even for exactly the same product! And jeans can stretch, it's true.

But this pair sounds too tight if you can’t zip them up easily. I’d go up a size.

I read somewhere that the more 'stretch' there is in the fabric, the more likely it is that the jeans will stretch out, loosen up a bit.

Even within the same brand/style/fabric, there will be variations. When they cut out garments in a factory they stack up 12 layers or so of fabrinc and cut through it all. The top piece is going to be smaller than the bottom piece. You may just have gotten a small size 26 , but my guess is that you do need to go up a size.

If they are so tight that you can't get them on without resorting to some bizarre positions, then they are too small. I'm guessing you didn't have to do this with the other pair of jeans, that you say were the same brand and style, right? The fact that it is a different fabric might make all the difference. It may have less stretch content or might be a heavier weight, or this wash might just run smaller than the one you had before. Also, some brands change their fit from year to year, or even season to season. I would exchange for a size up.

Yes, jeans should be tight in the beginning, but these seems too tight (you have to lay down on the bed to dress it). I think you should buy a size up.

i have a big problem. maybe you ladies can help me :)
i ordered a beautiful pair of jeans online, my usual size (26). but unfortunately they are very tight, i can barely zip them up in fact i have to do this lying down and pulling my stomach in :(

i know the size and model should fit me, because i have had the same model before in different fabric and i haven't put on weight since.

i also know that new jeans should be tight in the beginning, otherwise they will sag, but just how tight? any advice, how to stretch them?
