Your hubs is my hero!!!

My husband has been secretly wanting to ask the YLF sisterhood for advice LOTS of times. And so often I would say: "Just let me take your pic; they will be helpful!" but he was too shy. Well, maybe now that he has this dashing example he will come out of the closet!

I agree 100% that this coat looks fab on your husband without the belt. It should work very well.

My husband has also had his best luck with coats at Banana Republic this year. He has got a couple of jackets and coats and also some trousers there and even (gasp!) a SUIT from the US store....

Deb, I think I already convinced him how useful the pictures are when assessing the fit. He just came over when I was comparing his pictures side by side and said that I do it like a pro anyway he did not know I was going to post them online LOL .I will remove them soon from here after I get a feedback.
Angie, thanks so much for your help. I am taking both of them (trench and hubby) to my mom tomorrow to see what can be done. No belt is better, right? I also think the belt may be too low for him so it makes his legs shorter..belt loops should be so easy to remove and even if we leave them but remove the belt they are not very noticeable anyway.

What Angie said! Your hubby looks great in this trench. Sveta I cannot believe he posed and let you take pictures... I can just imagine the eye rolling if I suggested that to my DH lol. He looks very stylish.

You are so sweet - and hubs is dashing :)

I love the trench without the belt. Those lines look great on hubby, and the colour is amazing on him too. I wonder if your Wonder Mama can also remove the belt loops when she tapers the sides?

Almost a 10 and great potential to be a 10.

I am so excited about your trip!!!

...for my hubby!
I am getting ready for our upcoming trip to Portugal. While my travel capsule is more or less sorted out my hubby's is not. This is our first trip to Europe together and I of course I want him to look good there!
The good thing: he likes to wear button down shirts and blazers so it makes it easier for me to make him look non-touristy there.
The bad thing: he does not have a good topper to fit over a blazer. He has a long leather coat but it is too heavy and cumbersome for travel. Also it would be too hot to wear in Portugal in March.
So with this in mind I went to the mall yesterday for recon shopping trip. There is a dismal selection of classic not casual toppers for men in Canada for sure. After 3 hours of shopping around I found 3 stores with trenches and took my hubby there today.
Long story short we selected this trench in Banana Republic:
http://bananarepublic.gapcanad.....=236081003
It is a heavier cotton fabrication and it has a removable wool liner. Size L fitted comfortably over a jacket and was long enough to cover it. Surprisingly my hubby looked not bad in this khaki color, better than in black or navy ones he also tried on.
What I am concerned about is the fit. He is broad shouldered but very slim in tummy and hips so usually what fits the shoulders has too much fabric there. I can see from the pictures how much of this extra fabric is there, especially when he wears it without a blazer underneath. I am going to ask my mom if she can alter it to fit better but if she cannot - does it look too bad? It is not overly expensive but not cheap either so I don't want to keep it if it is not a 10 for him.
pic 1 shows the trench with blazer underneath; pic 2 is without a blazer.
It is a tighter fit on the guy on BR website but he does not wear a blazer there...
Please help!
