Thanks for the advice x

I've been wearing 3 for ages (the photo is from 2010!!) I LOVE that tunic. You can tell how old it is, I wore it to the London YLF meet!! When was that?

I've got a couple of long cardigans and a long sheer shirt I'll have a play around with and I'll keep an eye out for some suitable tops. I'm keeping the leggings anyway as I haven't got any black ones and the tunic was a cheapy one from New Look so I'm happy to keep it to play around with x

GREAT TO SEE YOU POST AGAIN, Louise.

I like what you did in #3. As long as the fabric of the leggings and skirt are sufficiently thick, you are in business. Wearing black leggings will give you the "skirted" look.

As for the first two looks, I think you need a longer looser top to wear over the couple. That way you'll feel less exposed. xo

Yup. What the others said. It's all in the fit. You can make #2 work really well with a long loose cardigan over top or a long loose/ oversize vest. #3 works great as is and you can substitute the black leggings and get your look right there!

In the first two pictures, I would wear a longer cardigan over the whole thing. In other words, I would use the body-con tunic as a base for a looser layer on top. The vest is too short and too close fitting for the vibe that I am trying to achieve with my skirted leggings looks. However, the third picture is exactly what I'm trying to achieve--I really like that look! And I think you could substitute the vest from 2 for the jacket in 3, for another variation. You can certainly wear the look, Louise, no doubt about it. Hope this helps!

The first two pictures are too dark for me to really see at all. The third picture, however, is marvelous and you look GREAT in it. While I don't know if the vest is the perfect topper, I really do like this tunic over leggings and I think it approximates the look of skirted leggings quite well.

Here's my attempt at skirted leggings. I can't find actual skirted leggings here in the UK so it's leggings and a bodycon tunic. I quite like it from the front but can't help thinking from the side it looks like I'm wearing leggings as pants? I haven't got the other pieces for the ensemble so have substited a longer vest is that the problem? Can I make this work? Pleaseeeee help I was so excited about this look but wonder if it's not meant to work on pears? x

ETA please excuse the heap in front of the picture it's the returns pile!!!!

ETA 3rd picture I wonder if I've already been doing this look for ages with this tunic dress? With black leggings substituted for the jegings
