I'm a body shape expert and your shape is diamond. You are very fortunate to have long legs and you should make a point of showing them off with this season's cropped pants. I agree that a good bra fitting will work wonders (for all of us, BTW!) and if you wear tops and dresses that have a high empire waist or ruching, I think you'll fit that it highlights you best features. If you are unsure what that looks like, take a look here... http://fitvalet.com/

I see apple/rectangle, and a good complexion for purple. You long limbs and feminine, but strong shoulders are great strengths. High hip? I have one of those too, and this, along with your midriff concerns, is probably the "fit issue" that will most often need to be address --- pant rises, for example, may be tricky. We all have these to deal with, and YLF is excellent at giving the necessary skills.

Welcome! (BTW --- when the thread activity slows down, you can click "hide" on the photos, and they'll be hidden from view in the archives)
Congrats! Thanks for retaking those shots! Looks like eggplant is your colour :)

I see an adorable apple before a racy rectangle. But both sets of guidelines will provide a good starting point. I also see lovely dainty shoulders, luscious long arms, and great legs!

Hi, RO. I'm no good with body shapes as I can't even figure my own out, but I do know that one of Angie's suggestions is to get thee to a professional bra fitting as it helps define the waist.

Love your pedi! You have beautiful limbs and a lovely shape in your shoulders and upper body. I mean it's all good but these are especially nice features. I am going to take a wild guess and say rectangle with a little apple or hourglass as secondary?

Who Knew?? never heard about a high hip shelf until I clicked on the link but it makes a lot of sense. . The Fabbers here are so supportive it's very reassuring. You know as Peri said I do miss the other she. Inside I still feel I'm the pear shaped girl in my late 20's. Outside not so much. That's why I require your FABulous assistance to learn to dress this body. Hope Angie chimes in when she can. Enjoy the sunshine if you are blessed with it today, I will go walk the dog and enjoy the warmth. Thanks again.
I would say that your basic shape is hourglass, perhaps with a high hip or a touch of apple (but not much!), and that you might like to highlight your higher waist rather than wearing lower-waisted things which might spoil the line and thereby hide your actually quite hourglass shape.

Based on this and your measurements from the previous thread I'd say you are an hourglass, maybe a slight pear, in bone structure with some apple tendencies in the midsection. I've got the same kind of tummy thing happening above the waist, so I know how it can be challenging to dress just right - anything too tight or thin is not flattering but anything too loose or baggy makes me look like I have no waist and am way bigger than I am.

I agree with Suz that you probably have a high hip/8 shape, and with Gaylene that you've got great arms and legs.
Hmm, I see a well-proportioned shape with slim arms and legs (I'm so envious of those lovely long gams, I can't stand it!) To my eye, you seem to carry your weight in your mid-section which might put you into the racy rectangle, but you do have a definite indented waistline which could make some of the tips for an hour-glass shape work for you.

I'm sure that other ladies with a much better eye will chime in, as well as Angie. While you are waiting, I'll just say that you've landed in exactly the right place to start having fun with your wardrobe. After three years of Angie's coaching, support, and encouragement, and with the help of all the other YLFers, I've never looked, or felt, better in my clothing.
I am not an expert, but I would guess a Racy Rectangle with some Apple tendencies. You might also have what Imogen Lamport calls a "high hip." So her guidelines might be helpful, too.

I see fab long legs!! Lucky you. It looks as if you might be a bit short-waisted, too.

I'm sorry, I'm no good at body type...I don't even know my own! I think I fit several different types.

But I like what you said about the body I'm in now. It's always hard, isn't it? I read something in a magazine that really struck me...can't quote exactly but that when we look in the mirror and feel unhappy we are really just missing the she we used to be. I feel that way about my skin...where are those round, firm cheeks I used to have and why are they now heading south?! I want my former she back!

So yay for you for wanting to look at reality. Which looks just fine, and the ladies who are better at body type will give you some great fashion advice and lots of body acceptance.
