yup everyone is right on! There are jokes that the rainy season ends July 5th....today is drizzly and chilly.

June could be shorts and sandals, or jeans and booties. It can be breezy so a sweater or warm layer is a must most days, until maybe august?

Evenings and mornings, regardless, are cool, so bring warm layers to throw on. (Proper Fish is delicious!)

Thank you all, this was super helpful! I had a general idea, but I definitely would have forgotten things like closed shoes & socks since I basically don’t wear them here all summer.

As a Bainbridge resident I second all the advice above, but have to say...Bainbridge skews casual, even a nice restaurant for the evening..

Ditto what the others have said. And don't forget socks. When I used to visit Seattle each summer, before we moved here, I learned that sandals or even bare ankles are not necessarily a given at that time of year. (We usually visited on 4th of July weekend.) Optional layers are key. It would be good to have a water- and wind-resistant topper and a sweater. So I would pack around those footwear and outerwear items.

What Angie and SarahD8 said. June can be notoriously unpredictable as far as weather goes. Seattleites frequently speak of "June gloom" or "Juneuary" I live near the water like Angie and I am usually sporting light layers throughout the summer.

Like SarahD8 said, Seattle in June can be GORGEOUS or miserable. Not much humidity. Everything is VERY green although skies might be grey.

ALWAYS bring topper options and closed shoes. ALWAYS bring some type of warmer top and pants. Cotton and linen scarves work well here too. Things are cooler and windier by the water or on the Islands. We live by the water and I'm often wrapped up. LOTS of trees, so lots of shade!

Ooh, that is tough. Here in Seattle we often say that summer really begins on Bastille Day. Late June/early July can be glorious, or it can be gloomy. I would keep a close eye on the weather report.

Definitely bring a cardigan/lightweight topper (or two or three or four) -- mornings and evenings can be chilly, and it's cooler near the water. If you'll be riding the ferry bring a windbreaker or even a lightweight puffer (you'll want to be able to go out on the deck and watch for whales, after all!).

Many/most retail establishments will have AC, but many homes (unless they are quite new) may not.

My summer uniform is midi sundresses + cardigan that I put on and take off a million times a day, fwiw. For cooler days lightweight/cropped denim will be fine.

Question for Angie but also for any Seattle residents or frequent travelers! Could you please tell me about the typical weather in Seattle in late June? Any packing must-haves or items to avoid? I’ll be visiting with one of my partners from around 6/21 - 7/4. They are from Seattle, so it’s not like they can’t advise me at all, but I wanted to hear from folks who care a bit more about fashion :)

We’re staying with their family on Bainbridge Island and not planning anything super fancy other than maybe a date night out or two while Grandma babysits. Mostly we’ll be having quality time and with the toddler, so it won’t be too different from my day-to-day routine other than the weather. I’ve been once before, for a week in late September, and stylistically I felt right at home in the city. But it’s 91° in central PA today so I know the weather will be very different! And even the indoors - am I correct that folks aren’t likely to have AC?
