Thank you Inge for the link. This was helpful. I think I will hem these to fit the flat sandals I usually wear in summer, and hopefully if I get some summer heels the length will be good for them too. Not that I wear much in the way of heels, my highest ones are 2". My DH calls them my "stilettos".

We had a discussion about this not too long ago and I believe Angie mentioned that with straights, some will depend on the width of the leg opening. Some straights are wider than others. The narrower ones can be worn more or less like skinnies, whereas with the wider ones you are aiming for PPL.

I like straights and most of my skinnys also are sized up to fit like straights. I wear mine with scrunch in front and over the top of the shoe in back like Angie and Karen in the link Inge posted.

I, too would like some recommendations on straight leg jeans. Although my boot cuts have served me well the last few years, I'd like to try a new silhouette. My question concerns wearing them over tall boots. When I wear my boot cuts, they come to within 1/2 inch of the floor, and only the tip of the toes are heel are visible. How much boot coverage can you get with straight leg jeans and not have them look horrible? Please bear in mind, I'd be wearing a 4 inch heel.

Thanks

After reading (and loving) this blog for over a year, I am starting to get out of my comfort zone and trying new things. I just bought a pair of straight leg white jeans, which I consider very brave of me, however they are very long. I will have to cut off some of the material, and am trying to figure out how much to cut and how to sew them. I might just break down and take them to a tailor. I'm also not sure on how long they should be. I have been reading the archives on PPL, but all the information I found so far is for wider styles. Are there any guidelines for this?
