Some straights are wider than others. Although my boot cuts have served me well the last few years, I'd like to try a new silhouette. My question concerns wearing them over tall boots. When I wear my boot cuts, they come to within 1/2 inch of the floor, and only the tip of the toes are heel are visible. How much boot coverage can you get with straight leg jeans and not have them look horrible? I just bought a pair of straight leg white jeans, which I consider very brave of me, however they are very long. I will have to cut off some of the material, and am trying to figure out how much to cut and how to sew them. I might just break down and take them to a tailor. I'm also not sure on how long they should be. I have been reading the archives on PPL, but all the information I found so far is for wider styles. Are there any guidelines for this? </p>
