Thanks for clearing this up for me - makes perfect sense! I'll stick with my boots until the temperatures start to rise

Nice question budget babe. Ballet flats are best without visible socks or stockings. The same way sneakers are best with socks. Ballet flats aren’t Winter shoes (unless you have warm Winters), which is why wearing socks and hosiery with them is not ideal. Occasionally you’ll get away with it. Sheer black trouser socks with black ballet flats are alright. Going with nude hose or trouser socks is not a bad idea because then it looks like you’re barefoot. However, neither are a great look. Wear a shoe that you can wear socks and hose with in Winter and leave the ones that you shouldn’t for warmer days.

What is the proper hosiery or what are the proper socks to wear with flats? In the summer, it's simple - I just wear those little stockings that cover your toes, sole and heel. But what about during the Winter? And what colors are best, say, with black leather ballet flats? I am utterly at a loss, especially since most fashion magazines show barefoot models. This just isn't practical in a cold climate. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
