I'm with you too - I have a lot of skirts/dresses that would be full-length on someone average height, but hit like #2 on me. I don't wear them because they feel too short. I should shorten them to knee length....

I'm especially bothered when I see a casual maxi being worn with heels making it too short. I'm thinking... just wear it with flats!

I agree that #1 looks good and #2 looks too short.

That said, I think it's more important for formal gowns (as in #1) to fall to the ground than it is for casual maxis (as in #2). Even using this theory, #2 still looks too short.

For maxi dresses and skirts, I think they look better if they skim the ground.

I think it is like croppped pants. Ladies like to show their shoes.
So complete ground-skimming lengths aren't going to universally pleasing.

What an interesting thought! Why does #2 look off? Is it length or overall style?
I have no idea if there's a thing as perfect dress length, but I agree with you. To me #1 looks good, while #2 seems too short.
Is there such a thing as perfect dress length? Like when it comes to maxis or gowns, do you have a preference for how close they fall to the ground?

I'm with you on PPL and always have been before I even found YFL. I think that having short legs, I just became used to the look of pants and dresses falling so long. So to my eye, dress 1 looks right and dress 2 looks too short.

Is this just me?

dress 1
dress 2
