You need to get yourself a steam cleaner, then you can just clean the armpits and avoid the trim. It's worth the investment!

My preference is also for the skirt, #3 or #4. #3 has edge for nighttime look, with crowd that wears all black. I also like with the jeans (#2) but can you swap the tall boots for the booties? Are those skinny jeans? Skinny jeans scrunched into booties would work and may be less uniform-like.

What are you going to do for a bag?

MNsara, thanks for your tips. The sequin shell is sleeveless which means armpit contact with the jacket. It has real lambskin leather trim so I don't know if regular drycleaning is even appropriate. When you take a leather jacket to the cleaners they don't dry clean it. That fluid would damage the leather. They strip the color off & redye it. I don't know how they would clean the fabric part of this jacket so I'm trying to avoid wearing sleeveless tops under it to reduce the cleaning needs. I wore it once with many layers in cold weather so it's ok so far but tomorrow night will be warmish.

Gorgeous jacket! and how cool that your husband found it for you! Of course you should figure a few outfits to get it out of the closet :-)

I like it with the jeans, but prefer it with the skirt and booties. I also prefer it with the darker top under it, the white lace isn't quite the contrast I'd first think of. I do like Kyle's suggestion of a bright color under it if you have anything to try.

I also like the idea of some glitz, but are you thinking your sequin shell could possibly damage the jacket?

Ceit your outfit is very similar. Boots and all! Perhaps you can follow this post & get some suggestions for yourself too. Where do you live? I got this at American Rag in Los Angeles & saw it at Fred Segal on Melrose too. It was a year ago so maybe not there anymore but if you do find it anywhere it will probably be cheaper. I never spend that much but hubby pulled it off a rack & told me to try it on. He loved it & wanted to buy it. It cost a lot so I feel guilty that it is an orphan. He buys things because he likes without thinking about an entire wardrobe or capsule. I love that he likes to give me things though so I really want to get wear out of it.

Nice jacket - I think because of the longer length I prefer it with the pencil skirt in #4 too. It can definitely work with jeans, but maybe a slimmer silhouette. Buttoned up it's definitely a bit too military for me. It would look amazing with a lace or brocade sheath or skirt or pants. a little glitz (but that' s my magpie gene rearing it's ugly head again) How about some color?

Elle, I LOVE this jacket. In fact, could you PM me the model number if it is on there because I need to stalk it and see if I can find one somewhere. (ETA oh I see you did put it in as the link...I am off to stalk )

I like it with the skinnies and boots. I did an outfit on Friday with a similar topper, but I used my BF jeans instead of skinnies. I also like it with the skirt too. I think you could wear it with just about anything and the jacket will just stand out in a great way.

Kyle thanks for your suggestions. I guess the uniform thing depends where you come from haha. They have different uniforms in different countries. It could be a bus conductor in the UK or a police officer elsewhere.

I can't do turtle necks they look bad on me & no shells because of the cleaning thing. I do have a sequin shell but I would have to wear something else over or under it to protect the jacket. I could do a plaid shirt unbuttoned, as per Angie's combo, & that would protect the jacket. I will try something on when hubby gets home to take pics.

I wish I could see the details of the jacket better--it looks gorgeous. I like it both with jeans or pants as well as with the skirt and booties in 4. I don't see uniform. I see edgy chic. My gut feeling is to let the jacket shine. To me, many different types of neutral tops would work, including the lace, but I could also see it with a pop of color, like an orange, a burgundy, or similar. If it's black, a simple navy blue shell or turtleneck, perhaps. If you want to go another direction, you could add in some sequins or leopard print, either as a top or a scarf addition. Or, deliberate black from head to toe.

I really love #4 with the skirt and scrunched sleeves. I like the contrast with the pencil skirt, and the booties teaming up with the jacket for a bit of toughness.

It has become an expensive orphan. It is unlined & not warm so it needs to be worn just for it's look really. It has leather trim so I don't want to wear it with anything sleevless as I'm not sure if it can even be dry-cleaned. The leather is very delicate. It is long so looks like a uniform when I wear it with black pencil skirt or sheath dress.

I think it's probably best with jeans or pants. I'm open to dressing it down or mixing it up like Angie did with tough boots, glitz & plaid. I hope to wear it to a concert tomorrow night. It's not a dressy crowd, more of an edgy crowd, at these gigs. I would like suggestions for tomorrow night & in general.

ETA: These are not outfit ideas, just giving you a proportional visual of the jacket. Here is a better look at the jacket
http://www.lyst.com/clothing/r.....nd-jacket/

ETA: Most of the crowd will probably be wearing all black so I was thinking if I mix the textures, leather boots, coated skinny jeans & perhaps the sequins not sure yet then would all black be OK?

Thanks!
