Thanks, everyone, Angie, I've never tried wraps and mock wrap tops, can you give me an example of what that would look like?
I recently purchased some banded tops and I think they look pretty good, at least I hope so.

Joy, thanks for the suggestion of wearing a belt under a cardi or jacket , I've never done that. I find that belts seem to widen me, especially the skinny to medium ones when I try them on top of a garment. I think I'm quite short waisted, maybe that's why. I have a wide belt that looks okay depending on what I wear it with. I'm really kind a chicken to wear belts.

Some of you girls helped me pick out a glasses frame a few months ago on this forum, here are some pics.
Do you think the banded top over skinnies and black cascading cardi with my booties is a good look for me? I hope these pictures aren't look large, I tried to resize them.

Another welcome from me, Evelina and nice job posting pics on your first thread! You look rectangular and have quite a strong shoulder line. Have you tried wrap and mock wrap tops?

Evelina, I think you are a rectangle with inverted triangle tendencies. I'm not an expert, though, so I'll be curious to hear what others say.

p.s. Welcome!

Evelina, welcome! It looks like your clothes fit well and give you some shape. In fact, you may be a narrow hourglass. I'm a rectangle with a strong shoulder line and find that even with a large waist, belts help define it and give shape. I like to wear mine high..more under the rib cage than at the waist...and belt a top worn under a jacket or cardigan more than over the jacket or cardi, although that can work too. The best thing is to experiment. Buttoning a shirt, cardi or jacket at the waist is another way of accomplishing the same thing.
The right shaped pencil skirt will also give you shape as will the right jeans. You just have to try lots of things on. Be sure to read Angie's guidelines for rectangle and inverted triangle for more guidance.

I hope I posted these pictures right. I was wondering what shape I am? I was thinking rectangular or inverted triangle? My shoulders(39)inches are a few inches larger than my hips(36)inches. my waist is 28" but I think because my high hip is not tapered in it doesn't look that size.

I'd like to dress to add some curves to my shape, any suggestions?
