I haven't worn them long enough to say for sure. But they easily last 3x as long, I would say. I don't wear hose year 'round; I switch to thicker ones in the winter and go bare-legged in the heat. But it seemed I was buying Hanes at least twice a year, 2 or 3 pair at a time. The Wolfords feel like a different product. They feel SO good on the legs, very smooth (but not shiny), and have a lot of easy stretch with good recovery. They don't bag out and don't slide down, which I usually have to deal with, being tall. The biggest issue I've had is with the dye in suede shoes (and my red nail polish) staining them! So the oldest pair is relegated to boot wearing only.</p> <p>Caveats are that I'm a very experienced hose-wearer. I keep my toenails and fingernails smooth and know how to put them on and adjusting during the day without digging or yanking. I always get the reinforced toe variety, and prefer control top (the waistband doesn't dig in), but all-over support are too tight and I've put a thumb through trying to adjust them!</p> <p>I also wash them in the sink with Hosiery Mate, which is supposed to bind to the nylon and strengthen them. I did this back when I was wearing vintage fully-fashioned stockings (the ones with back seams and no stretch) and it seemed to help them as well.</p> <p>Full price is expensive, but places like Bare Necessities and occasionally Her Room will have sales. Nordstrom will usually price match at those times, too.
