I see these very casual linen pants with flat thong sandals or espadrilles. I'm just not sure a closed shoe is going to work - and certainly not a dressy one.

The wider ones are harder for me to style with comfortable shoes closed-toe shoes unless I just go with the fact that they are very casual and wear something like slip-on tennies. Sort of a linen beach pant look. Others might wear Birks even though that may not be the uber-trending Birk look--you could still ride the wave. That's not closed-toe, though. The tapered pants probably are more forgiving of various flat shoe styles.

The wide pair seem to be asking for pointy toes...maybe in a perforated leather. Are these pants full length, almost floor sweeping on you?

I have 2 pairs of summer trousers: one wide legged heavy linen in dark grey (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Eileen.....-Darling-/) and one I am planning to buy from the Loft in green (http://www.loft.com/relaxed-li.....513&p) . However, I need new shoes. Is there one pair that would look nice with both? I do have a stacked neutral heel sandal for dressier occasions, but I would like a shoe that is uber comfy for long walks with a covered toe as I am a klutz. I have always been partial to Sesto Meucci and Aquatalia but can't find anything that would suit. If the two pants demand different shoes, well, so be it.
