I have four piercings on my right ear, including a helix and then 2 on my left and a nose stud on my left nostril. I love mixing and matching and giving them a bohemian look. It sounds like yours are fab' with the titanium balls and roses etc ...

it's a fun area to play with and there's no right or wrong, only what tickles your fancy!

You have gotten some great advice and I echo the others. Wear what you like and what makes you happy. I often wear mismatched earrings.

Yay for pierced ladies!
I have 14 in my right ear, and 7 in my left. I usually keep my upper piercings minimal - either small gemstone studs or small diameter captive bead rings - and go exciting on my lobe piercing.
Currently, in my right ear, for example:
Lobe: chandaler-style earring (matching in left lobe)
2nd: 1/4" CBR, 18G (matching in left lobe)
3-7: gemstone stud with labret post (flat back FTW!)
8&9 (helix piercings) 1/4" CBR, 18G
Triple Forward helix: graduated gemstone studs
triple conch: the outer two are gemstone studs with a larger decorage post in the center.
I find that having them have visual consistency means less feedback on the numbers of them - it's very rare people even seem to notice them, and every now and again, when I mention that I have 14 piercings, people will do a double take. :)
I think it depends on what you're looking for. I'm inching towards middle years, so while I love my modifications, I don't care to draw attention to them.

I have 4 holes in my R ear and 2 in my L ear, so I am always mismatched. There are no rules, I just wear what I feel like, but usually I have a large pair in my main holes and some combination of studs and small hoops in the auxiliary holes.

Not Angie - and I'm about a hundred years older than you - but, I agree with DirectorofAwesome - play with it, have fun. There aren't any "rules." (FYI - I often wear some type of dangly earring in the ear on the side where my hair is shorter and a stud on the other side. I also have a 2nd hole in each ear and I always wear a stud in each one of them.)

HI Ashley, I'm no expert but I have thoughts on the subject! I have three holes in each ear. Just regular piercings and I usually wear white gold studs in the top two, and change the original piercing regularly, often with dangling silver earrings. That's sort of my regular look. I have been thinking about the mismatched look lately and considering giving it a try. I think I will do it in the original two holes, the ones where I usually change my earrings, and continue to leave the other holes filled with the small studs. I'm kind of lazy so that seems like the best idea to me.

I am going to try some mismatched studs, having bought some inexpensive ones recently, and am also going to try a small hoop in one ear and a stud in the other. I think you should just experiment and find a look you like. Some people even wear a big and bold earring in one ear and a small stud in the other. Pulling it off just takes confidence. Act like it's intentional and you've pulled it off!
