Again, thank you so much for the suggestions! It went in the mail today, and I am in a welter of impatience for it to arrive!

For sure, I'm going to do the dark turtleneck/skirt combo, and reverse that - dark turtleneck/tights with the pink skirt. I have an antique lace Edwardian collar that I am in the process of removing from the shards of a shattered silk blouse, that I hope will tuck in nicely, as well. I just have to wait and see how the jacket plays with the pants I have :)

I also love the tulle skirt idea. I have a tulle-lined purple beaded skirt that I wore to the ballet last month - I think that would be a fun idea for future artsy outings

Great ideas from the ladies.

LBD, it's really fitted so it could work over a full skirt or wider trousers too.

How about a pencil skirt in a darker shade and Sarahs idea of a turtle neck to match the skirt. Add pointy ballet flats. Or maybe a sleeveless silk vest underneath and trousers/pants that fit around the hips but then go to a wid leg and wear high pointy toed pumps.

I think that jacket would be fab over jeans, skinnies, and any tone matching pencil skirt. That is a statement jacket.

I really have no idea as to how to wear it as a suit. I would just wear it as if it was a dress. I cannot think of any blouse that would go with the intricate detail of the jacket.
I guess you could wear the jacket with light or white denim bottoms and the skirt is much easier, a simple white top would do.

I think you could wear a lace turtleneck under the jacket for a different top look, or a thin black cashmere turtleneck as well. Also perhaps pair the jacket with a tulle skirt to change up the bottom profile, or with any slim pant (black silk?), or even a drapey wide leg with a light colored (similar to jacket color) pointy toe heel peeping out. i see lots of options....

This is a tough one because I can't really wrap my head around how to break it up. The jacket seems so form fitting it wouldn't allow much layering options underneath. Thus the only other option would be to wear it open, then that would detract from the corset look of the jacket. As you mentioned you could wear it separate with different bottoms. The bottom obviously could go with any topper. So yes, not really much help from me. But it would still be a good purchase for you love it so, can't wait to see it on you.

I put "Ask Angie" in the subject line, but of course, I would love everyone's input, because y'all have brilliant ideas!

I just bought this suit on eBay. I found it a few days ago, and have not been able to get it out of my head!

I went over Angie's Item-Outfit-Capsule test for new purchases:

http://youlookfab.com/2012/08/.....purchases/

1. "Item": The measurements indicate it is my size and should fit. The corset style is one of my favorite looks. The skirt is a perfect length, the color is beautiful, and on the mannekin, the fabric drapes nicely. I am optimistic that it will be similarly nice on me! (if not, it goes back on eBay). This suit fits in perfectly with my lifestyle, and I anticipate I will have multiple opportunities to wear this suit this spring.

2. " Capsule": This fits two capsules: work events and theatre/fundraising occasions. Depending upon the amount of stretch, the jacket may be used as a costume piece for flamenco dance.

Where I am stuck is "Outfit" Not stuck, per se, but it would be very nice to have other options for wearing the jacket and the skirt separately. I could really use some ideas! I don't wear jeans as a general rule (they don't fit any of my capsules, and for casual going out, I usually reach for other things in my closet), but I do wear skinny pants, a la Wolford.

Here are some photos....

Thanks!!!
