I think what gets me stuck is that being petite, and short-waisted, I would probably wear them at or just below the knee to avoid stumpification. But given my climate, I'll mostly be wearing them with knee-high boots, which suggests that they should be hemmed just below the top of the boot? Or just far enough below the top of the boot that the hem doesn't get "stuck" on the boot, but not any lower? The fit of the boot shaft and the width and length of the culotte hem have to work together so that the legs stay over the boots&nbsp; and return there when&nbsp; getting up after sitting. Full knee-high, fitted calf boots should work fine with a variety of styles but I could see some in-between styles that would hang up. </p> <p>I'm just thinking it's a bit different from a skirt, which easily falls back over boots, and that I find static photos able to show stylings that behave differently in motion. More to do with your own tolerance for volume and the look you're after.
