Thanks for the suggestions, Angie! I'm going to give several of these a whirl. :)

Diana, unlined wool trousers make me a bit itchy too, but more so I simply don't understand why they're not lined given the price. I find a lining makes pants fall so much better and feel better too. Theory is another brand that does this. Angie, what gives...it is just a quality-cutting measure or am I missing something?

My Nikki's feel stretchier than yours but they are supposedly 98%cotton/2% spandex like many of my jeans (that don't itch) so I dunno.

14" is close to my BR Martin straight leg trousers, which are definitely not cigarette pants. It might be that the smaller sizes have smaller leg openings, but they supposedly measured an 8, which is my size.

If I remember correctly - your Nikkis are a different fabrication, no?

14 inches does seem awfully wide doesn't it ???? Those pants fit like straight legs on my clients. I'm baffled.

(Angie, remember that somehow I find my AG Nikki's a bit itchy.). But I will consider these for sure. My other issue with unlined wool is just that you have to clean them more often.

Although I just noticed it is a 14" leg opening. I think that's too wide for me. (I have 7.5" ankles, remember.). I wouldn't mind a somewhat more fluid fit in the leg but I need my ankles to be tapered.

I have plenty of unlined wool trousers that aren't itchy. Trust me - I would not wear them if they were.

Yes, Diana. Try the Lafayette York Pants.

I'd be worried about the fact that all of the colors except for khaki are unlined, Beth. Unlined wool trousers are the bane of my existence. So itchy.

I also think I need to replace my old martin skinnies soon. I have the Gap Ultra Skinny pants but those fit tighter on me, not quite as elegant.

Angie, is there a not-so-stretchy alternative? I don't want ponte (too stretchy, plus I find it itchy) or knit, but I also want something a little dressier looking than denim.

A great replacement, but a different fit. A lot more fluid. Truly a stylish pair of trousers though. I almost bought a pair in ink.

If you are after a tighter cigarette pant fit - try these:

Angie, do you recall the BR Martin skinnies that we all bought and loved several years ago? Well, mine are pretty much at the end of their lifespan, and I'm looking to replace them.

I've been thinking about one of your NAS Picks, the Lafayette 148 Irving pants. I want a fit and style very similar to the BR Martins, with a cigarette-style narrow leg. Since you know them in person, would the Lafayette 148 pants be a good replacement? And if not, have you seen anything else that might be an option?

Thanks!
