I have shapewear that starts just above my knees (like leggings) and finishes at my bra-line. Something like that should be fairly well hidden underneath. I do think the dress looks great, but it also appears that you feel uncomfortable/self conscious about it. I think in this case, it isn't about how great you look, but about how great you feel. For me, the join in the "bandages" is right at the widest part of your tummy, so I would be self conscious in it - almost like arrows pointing towards your tummy.
