Aha. Well, it's good to know that there is nothing wrong in wearing a scarf in different ways.

I also understand what you mean about the ends coming in your way and flying around.

Come to think of it, I usually knot the ends too....in the front. The weight of the denim vest kept the scarf in place in the picture above. I guess the fabric and length of scarf are very important. I do have a few polyester, chiffon, georgette and crepe scarves, like the one in the picture here.

All my Spring and Summer scarves are cotton or linen. My Autumn and Winter scarves are wool or woolly silks.

People are different, Maneera - good thing! I find the way you're wearing the scarf in #2 fussy because of the loose ends. They get in the way of what I'm trying to do - and they wave about when I walk. But I do like the look. If it works for you - so much the better.

Thanks a bunch, Angie. Your scarf is really gorgeous!

I agree with Jenn. Any silky gauzy scarf feels more fussy with this knot----especially if it's hot out. It sticks to the neck uncomfortably and just makes you feel hotter. Infinity scarves work a lot better.....cotton and linen scarves do very well with this tying style.

I am wearing a pure cotton scarf in picture 1 on a hot day. I have tied the ends together to turn it into an infinity scarf. Tucking doesn't always work for me The scarf wasn't uncomfortable. But....when it is very hot and your scarf isn't cotton, I prefer the style in picture 2 (that scarf is polyester).

An alternative to wrapping and tucking is to tie the ends of your rectangular scarf together before putting it on so that it becomes a faux infinity scarf.

Thanks, Parsley. That's exactly it, Maneera.

There is little to learn. You wrap the scarf around your neck and tuck in the ends. THAT'S IT. Does not work with a slippery silk scarf though.

Aida dud a tutorial on tying a scarf muffler style a year or so ago. I'll see if I can find it.

I would love to be coached up on how to tie the scarf in the way Angie is wearing it in Parsley's post! While it doesn't look that difficult, it seems that when I've tried to achieve that look it doesn't come out exactly right. I agree the look is more modern. And, I've searched and searched the many scarf tying tutorials online and *cannot* find one for that exact technique.

Angie, pretty please, when you get a chance . . . advise us? : )

Hi Banoffi,

Which style do you mean? I can tell you about the 2 pictured above.

Pic 1 &2: Fold the scarf into two lengthwise with one side longer. Wrap both sides around your neck, loop the ends (both of them) through the fabric fold; pull.

Pic 3: Secure both ends of the scarf to make a large circle (a knot or a pin) and then wind again around your neck.

Hi Angie,

You mentioned this is one of my WIW threads a while back, and again on Donna's thread with blush plus burgundy ensemble yesterday.

My question is: What do you mean by tying a scarf muffler style? You stated it looks more current. I am adding pictures; is this what you mean?

Thanks a ton!
