Your positive words keep my Polyvore spirit going, ladies.

Chris, the Finds feature is a great way to build capsules. I do it all the time by creating Collections.

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Joy, I love YLFs finds too, and use the collection feature often. I'll stick with that!

Once again I am sending a big thank you to Angie for her work on YLF. The ensemble posts are so visually appealing and I had no idea how difficult they were to put together.
Thank you!!!

I have tried using polyvore. It was so difficult! I thought it was me. Perhaps I was missing some critical knowledge or intellect. It is a relief to me to hear it is the program.

Thank you Angie for your labour of love.

Wow, I did not know it was such a fuss. As Chris says, I like it visually. I thought that it was easy to use for more-technologically-advanced- people-than-me. But it seems it is not so. Rest assured, Angie, that I very much appreciate your labour !

Thank goodness Angie acknowledged that it is difficult to use Polyvore because I thought I just needed to put in more time to establish fluency. I feel like I can quit trying, now.

I much prefer using YLF's Finds feature to put together capsules. They may not have the collage effect of Polyvore but everything that you want to include can be in one place and you can add photos that only you can see plus lots of information about the pieces that you include. Thank you, Angie and Greg!

Wow! I have a whole new appreciation for your work, and also the work of other Polyvore set makers. They are so visually appealing. It is a tragedy that it is so hard to use.

Ditto everything Angie says. The selection is terrible, which renders it more or less useless for actual wardrobe planning. The search functions are not very, uh, functional.

I tried to use it to brainstorm a work capsule for my husband in 2015, gave up in frustration and haven't been back since.

I was thinking about this same question yesterday, because many items aren't listed on Polyvore. I hear that people use Adobe Elements to manually make a collage, but Polyvore is probably less time consuming.

Wow. In this day and age there is no excuse for the issues you state. Sounds like they need to hire Greg to clean up their system; ylf does not suffer from any of those issues at least Not from a user perspective Thanks and I will definitely remember your labor of love!

I don't enjoy using Polyvore at all. It's a mare, actually. Chris. Bad user interface, bad photo quality, limited, and very, very time cosuming. The only reason I continue with it is because the ensemble posts are extremely popular on YLF and FB, and I can EVENTUALLY get a decent visual together that allows our readers to see clothes off a body. (That's very important). I would happily never use Polyvore again though. I hope people appreciate that the ensemble posts are my labour of love to YLF!

Angie, I've been thinking of playing around with Polyvore and wonder if you (or anyone else who has tried it) could comment on what you like or don't like about it. I LOVE the way it displays capsules in an almost cartoonish way, it makes the outfits so easy to visualize. I also know you have to live with the specific clothing choices that are available and can't add your own "finds".

Thanks,

Chris
