I, for one, would love to see 80's Angie.

Christmas tree Angie would also be interesting, and just in time for the holidays too :)

I remember seeing some pictures of dressy Angie with her papa, sporting a shoulder length bob and a hoodie! A HOODIE!

Angie, would you consider treating us to some more "vintage Angie style" photos? I love seeing your Mother's Day & Father's Day pictures of your family while you were growing up, and it's also a treat to see the elements & influences of your present day style even while you were a child. It would be a lot of fun to see photos of you representing your style throughout different decades if you are ever comfortable sharing.

Thank you for the long reply, yes, it satisfied my curiosity..I'll have a read at the older blog posts with a cup of hot cocoa :). I think as a fashion buyer you saw a lot of trends come and go, and having an insider look at it, you could pick what worked for you and make other stuff work for you.. I used to work at a clothing company (funny, me) and always admired the buyers that came and negotiated with my boss. They seemed to know a lot, now I know it comes with a territory!
Kate- I don't mind others sharing at all! I'd love to hear stories :). I was looking through some of my older pictures (from early to mid twenties) and most of them are like "What were you thinking??" LOL, all cardinal sins of YLF there... Glad to hear there's hope!!

I don't mind you asking at all, Isabella. I hope that I can satisfy your curiosity!

I've been in the fashion industry for 18 years - most of it as a fashion buyer. Fashion and style has always been an interest and my bread and butter. I am my late Mother''s child and have always looked dressy. At a young age, I was the one in blazers and blouses when others were in T-shirts. Always bold colours, trendy, and lots of black and white. Keen in dresses and skirts as opposed to pants. This has sort of been my thing forever. I guess some things don't change.

We wore what we did back in the 80's and in it's day it was fabulous :).

The 90's was power suit time and I wore a lot of Prada-esque looks to work while doing grunge "my way" over the weekend. Wore far too much black! My style was also a lot more juvenile and Christmas tree-like - loads of accessories and too much going on. But that too was a style, which I embraced at the time.

At age 35 things changed. I felt I needed to start looking more grown-up with an added emphasis on quality. I also wanted to look more strict and buttoned up instead of playful and young. So I started saving my pennies so that I could buy one KILLER thing instead of 5 lovely things. As a result my look became cleaner and stronger - and even more dressy.

I enjoy a less is more philosophy and don't want a lot of things - but what I wear has got to make me feel like a million bucks whether its Dr. Marten boots or a cocktail dress.

And there is always fashion and style hope at any age. We love having you aboard Isabella

Not Angie, but if you search for her blog posts about her parents you will find some of the info that answers your question.

Also, I think a lot of ladies on YLF have stories that will give you hope, so I hope you're open to responses that aren't just from Angie! There is a lot of hope to be found here!

Hello Angie, if you don't mind me asking, what was your style before (years before) YLF? I can't imagine you looking anything but fab, did your style significantly change since your early adulthood years (early 20's I mean)? What influenced it, or was it a gradual process? Or maybe you were picking your outfits so they matched since childhood?
I think I'm trying to hear (hoping to hear) there is hope for people like me, who feel like they're still in nursery school as long as fashion is concerned... LOL. Appreciate the answer! (and I'm sorry in advance if that has been asked before!).
