36G here, and not only do I have trouble finding tops, but most bras aren't cut high enough to keep things contained. I've learned to be wary when getting fitted -- if a store doesn't carry your size, they will sometimes fudge it either in band or cup size to get close.

I usually avoid button fronts, but I recently discovered that Old Navy has button-fronts that have an extra, hidden button right where the old safety pin trick used to work. First one that came was too large, so I can't report yet on how well it works.

Thanks for the supportive comments before I had time to get to the post. It's been a hectic day.

Jenava, thanks for taking the time to post examples. Very helpful!

Renee P, I dress many women with a similar bra size and larger, and they all look super cute! You don't need to fit into an off-the-rack button down to look stylish. Far from it :)

Here are some dressing tips for a larger bust:

https://youlookfab.com/2016/05.....arge-bust/

Sometimes alterations are worth the time and expense. I do more than I used to these days too. Soooo worth it.

Here are the types of silhouettes that tend to work well on a larger bust. Shout if you need help. You have people waiting in the wings to assist you here

Oooh, I'm a 32HH! So I must be a super-freak. hehe...I'll take it.

Every single body is unique. Part of learning to enjoy being dressed is figuring out what garments honor your particular version of being a human.

Who cares that you can't fit into an off the rack button down? If you could, would you even want to?

Here are a few items I've gotten recently that I like, to hopefully give you some inspiration? I'm happy to help you find/evaluate items (as we all are! That's why we're here!) as well.

I’m not busty, but I’m kinda just round. I can’t wear a button down to save my life. They just don’t go where I go shapewise. I need fabrics that drape yet don’t cling yet have some structure. Sometimes I can get that with Princess seams, sometimes not...

Hi, nope you are not a freak!!

I'm 36G (was a 40G once but health reasons required a weight change). Though I am 5'7" so balances out a bit.

I know I'm preaching to choir here - but - get the best bras you can - and then most things look much better. I've gone to bra boutique a few times to confirm my size as needed. For a few years, I've bought bras from Bare Necessities - they have a good full figure collection of brands. I'm a massive proselytizer for Prima Donna bras.

I also don't do button-down blouses very much anymore. For casual wear, I would get Gap cotton and chambray shirts - but after a while got tired of the big-shirt over jeans look. Realized I was hiding under a tent in effect.

When I worked, I wore silk or jersey shells under blazers and sweaters. Or wrap-style tops though not my favorite style. Sometimes could find a silky blouse that fit, but haven't shopped that in a while. Angie probably has good sources.

Now I like Gap women's vintage wash tees and long sleeve tees. I've gotten used to snugger fits too - though can't really explain the psychological change. I'm also exploring exercise wear - I like the sturdier technical fabrics and modern styles.

Fortunately, there are brands now that have realistic fits - I've tried Sweaty Betty, Universal Standard, Outdoor Voices.

I've just discovered Katie Sturino on Instagram - a full-figure blogger.
https://www.instagram.com/katiesturino/?hl=en

I agree wholeheartedly with chewyspaghetti — you are not a freak or even all that unusual, but I know it can be frustrating and discouraging to feel like nothing fits you right. 32G here. Button-front shirts are often difficult for a lot of us with larger chests, but there are lots of fashionable alternatives!

34C-D chiming in here (which might not seem that big of a size, but it's actually a whole lot of boob on a 5ft3 frame! lol) I honestly don't wear button-down front tops much at all for this reason For interviews, I'll wear a silk blouse or shell (underneath a suit jacket) instead.

That said, the ol' 'safety pin between the buttons' trick works wonders (I'll also use a double magnet sometimes, if it blends well into the existing buttons). Or try brands that are built for fuller busts (I believe Angie has mentioned Foxcroft shirts before on the blog, but here are some photos on a plus sized blogger:
http://stylepluscurves.com/201.....-foxcroft/
& ASOS has dedicated Fuller Bust & Hourglass lines of clothing, that you could use for a cheap at-home try-on).

Please do not think you are a freak. Lots of women have large busts, or large whatevers, or small whatevers. There is no right way to be shaped. This is you. That said, my bust is on the larger side and it does affect how clothes look on me. Button up tops work best if they are flowy rather than tailored and pull overs with v necks are much easier. Post some pictures and you will get lots of help and suggestions.

You’re in good company; there are a lot of women here who swap strategies for dealing with big busts. I’m not among them, but if you search the forum and Angie’s archives, you’ll probably get some good ideas while you’re waiting for folks to come along and comment here.

I am built weird. I have a 38 F bra size, so I am very busty. Nothing seems to fit right. Button-down shirts either look frumpy or they pop open with my boobs. I feel like I can't wear anything truly fashionable because I am built like a freak.
