Bri, feel free to always ask away. You know I love to help out :0)

I use normal glass hangers (see through plastic), and I never have a problem. But all my knitwear is fine so they aren’t heavy. I fold my basic turtle necks though. Padded hangers are a great option too.

I use plastic hangers and they do create bumps. Maybe padded is the trick. I am worried about how much space they would take up in my miniscule closet.

You can find very nice padded hangers for $1 apiece (in sets of 10) at Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/catalog.....id=6023212 They come in a cream color or a mix of muted "earthtones." Just keep in mind that you don't really want to use padded hangers for everything in your closet, because they do consume space. They're really good for sweaters, though -- I started hanging mine when I couldn't manage to keep them in neatly folded stacks.

I am not Angie, either, but I use regular (but thicker) hangers for some of my sweaters and I haven't had a problem. I use padded hangers for a few items that are more delicate.

(I'm not Angie but I'm chiming in anyway)

What kind of hangers do you use? Wire hangers will give you shoulder bump. I think those padded hangers are probably best for knits, but I use plastic and I don't have any problems with shoulder bump. Also those hangers that you can squeeze down...don't know what they're called...but they seem like a good choice.

Hi Angie, I'm going to do two Ask Angie threads today--hope you don't mind!--because of things in other threads that inspired questions for me.

You mentioned that you hang all your knitwear. Do you not get shoulder bumps in the knits from the hangers? That's what happens to me. How do you avoid that?
