Angie, have we seen your hairclip? I'd love to!

I love hair accessories. Headbands in particular are very big in London right now, and you see many girls rocking the Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) funky headheand look. I can't wear it myself because they don't sit right with my glasses, but I definitely would if I could.

I agree with the others that it's down to the styles you choose. The great thing about hair accessories being so popular right now is that there's such a huge variety- both young/girlie and mature/sophisticated. You will definitely rock the look when you find the right pieces!

I'm going to wear my dainty Chanel diamond hairclip until I’m 100. In fact you can bury me in it and throw in the pearls too. (I actually wore my hairclip today).

It’s a matter of taste, discretion and setting. You can absolutely wear hair accessories when you’re older if you choose the right accessories and wear them with a certain level of sophistication. Hope that makes sense.

J Crew and Anthropologie both stock the best headbands IMO. And since neither of these stores are really geared towards "young" women (I mean really young), I think it's safe to assume they're good for any age.

I think they can look really elegant, and they can look immature. Take a look in Calire's or any other junior accessory store- it's stocked with candy brights, glitter, and cheap looking plastics. I'd avoid those things and also tend toward abstract designs. I think that feathers, real looking flowers, and higher quality jewelery type findings can be fun and elegant. Your new cut is perfect for these!

So in my haircut thread, hair accessories were talked about a little and I started to wonder...

Are headbands and other hair accessories immature-looking? Should they be reserved for a certain age range? Or can someone in their early 30's (like me) wear them and still pull off a polished look? I'm thinking silk flowers, the butterfly (which is actually a pin that I attached to a hair clip!) and headbands.

Anything I should avoid?
