I’m wondering what your new landscape is like now. I moved four miles, from Hipsterville to a neighborhood that 100 years ago was the countryside outside of town. It’s a funny thing, it’s completely not now and yet the countryside clings to it. I’m positive everyone is a birder. People walk their dogs off leash and all the dogs behave! (My Lilypup has acquired much better sidewalk manners.) Bright colours make a person seem suspicious. I had a moment early on where I was in a ‘pretty’ dress and block heels and felt very silly, and I’m wondering if you had a moment like this. I now basically wear grey trail shoes with whatever else I’m wearing to tone it down. It makes me feel better and not like I got lost and need directions to elsewhere... </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/ask-angie-gingham-pants#post-2190212 Tue, 27 Apr 2021 03:36:22 +0000 bridgie 2190212@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>kkards, Angie, Deborah, Fashintern<br />Thanks for your help.<br />Three or 4 years ago when gingham was so hot I wanted a pair of ankle length or cropped navy and white gingham pants.&nbsp; Now, I very seldom shop Target, especially for clothes, but at that time, I spotted a pair of navy and white gingham pants, also a matching bomber jacket.&nbsp; I tried the pants on in my size, a perfect fit and nice quality fabric, Merona.&nbsp; I snatched them, checked out and went home.&nbsp; I love bomber jackets, but very seldom wear matching pants and jacket as in a suit.<br />So, I asked Angie and the forum what they thought about the jacket..&nbsp; Most forum members said don't get it.&nbsp; Angie said get it, so, next day I made another trip to get the jacket.&nbsp; I am glad I did, and would do so again.&nbsp; I don't recall ever wearing the two together.&nbsp; It was always the pants with a Talbots denim jacket and usually neutral color top, white, cream, red and the gingham bomber with blue, black, white or cream pants and various colored T.<br />Saturday for the lunch with my family, to start, I wore the Matching gingham and bomber jacket, with a&nbsp; cream colored long bell sleeve trimmed in eyelet, crew neck (my favorite neck style) nice feeling fabric, maybe all cotton, not sure, Madewll T, purchased from Nordies this year.&nbsp; I wore a denim bucket hat, my rTed Baker watch with red leather floral band, and a navy nautical print bracelet on the other arm.&nbsp; I also wore gold anchor pendant and a rose gold necklace.&nbsp; Desperately wanting some color,I wore red Echo sneakers and a medium size tote bag.&nbsp; Elizabeth Arden faux leather and with gold studs. And I carried a larger matching bag with various items, which stayed in car the entire trip!&nbsp; My DS drove and my sweet DDIL insisted I sit in front seat while she sat in back.&nbsp; We were moving along fine, suddenly I turned sideways to see her and these words flew out of my mouth --- I feel like a clown.&nbsp; She dresses very nice, but she responded with first remark that I did not and that what she was wearing was 5 yrs old, etc, etc.&nbsp; My son, who is usually quite talkative, did not say one word. On this 3 hr drive one way, we stopped at a rest stop, they went inside and I did not.&nbsp; I just happened to have my trusty denim jacket in that large tote bag and I changed my jacket, for what it was worth, but I did like it a dab better. But here goes.<br />4 years ago you had a pair of navy and white gingham pants that you styled so beautifully!&nbsp; Do you still have and wear those pants?&nbsp; Do you think gingham&nbsp; pants are outdated.&nbsp; Of course I suppose when you answer first question that will automatically answer second question.<br />I have a pair myself and I believe that I bought them at that time.&nbsp; I wore them today for the first time thisyear to lunch with my family in Knoxville, Tenn.&nbsp; It is the first time I have been to a restaurant in over a year.<br />To add and the reason I am asking the question above is that I did not feel that I looked my best and somehow I think it was the pants.&nbsp; They fit fine.&nbsp; Any comment, any suggestion from anyone welcome. </p>
