Thank you for the input (sorry to work your wrists, Angie!). This confirms my suspicion that I should get the 4, so that's what I'll do. Hooray!

I bought the ones that fit nicely (not overly snug).. and after a days wear they had relaxed to a loose but not baggy fit.

I'd get the 4. These look best a little roomy and belted.

Megan, thanks for the reply. Good to know you've heard several people say they stretch a lot; that seems to be the general consensus but Angie had said size up so I'm a bit confused. I want these to have a looser fit (more of a pseudo-wide leg flared look), so I'm kind of reluctant about the 2; if they only stretch a little they wouldn't be loose enough through the thigh for the look I'm going for, but a full size stretch might be enough. The 4s are only slightly looser in the thigh (but if they stretched could be good?), and the 6s are too large in the waist but I plan to wear them belted anyway. Pants are hard -_-

Not knowing these jeans myself but having heard from several people that they stretch a lot I'd get the 2. If the 4 is already verging on being a little big then any stretching out would be bad.

I always choose my jeans as ones I can JUST button up and they are always super comfy by the end of day 1.

I know you suggested sizing up for the GAP Long and Lean jeans. I plan to pick up a pair of the light wash tomorrow and wanted to know if you still recommend sizing up. For me, a 2 is a snug fit, a 4 fits well but verging on being a little big due to recent/ongoing weight loss, so a 6 would be the size up. Did yours stretch out a full size, the way all the sales associates keep telling me that they do? In terms of how they fit right off the rack, I like how the 4 looks and would be fine with a bit of stretch for it, but if the 6s really do stretch out a full size this would be far too large. Thanks very much!
