James Jeans.

I wear the Twiggy which is more of a skinny fit so perfect for tucking in boots or booties but I think they have straight leg too. High back rise and good differential between the waist and hip. No gaping at the back.
Nice quality too. They do stretch out a bit but not like the Gap ones I've had which seem to grow a whole size in a couple of hours. Maddening.

My mom who has a similar figure loves the JAG jeans.

Archer, we have a levi's store here in town. I will go check there for sure. Do you think these can be bought online as there is no store nearby?
Diana, Joe's website has only bootcut in honey and I could not find visionaire at all. Kut is showing only one style in straight leg. Lucky brand looks like it has most selection in curvy fit. I will look into it more later.
All of these brands are shipped from USA which means a hefty duty/custom fee in addition to shipping and handling to get delivered to Canada. Oh well, I will save these names for later when I plan to visit USA this Christmas.

7 jeans, American Eagle, Citizens of humankind, Joe's Jeans. There are some GAP styles that are good too.

I agree with the others mentioned. I need mid-to-slightly-low rise, but try Paige, AG, Joe's Honey cut, and Kuts (yes, size down in those). Luckys and Mavi may work -- they are a bit short on me but work for many other ladies. Oh, and JBrand can work for me too. I have big thighs in addition to being hip-endowed, so I need to try on LOTS of jeans to find the ones that work for me. Good luck!

Exactly what Diana and Archer said :)

I'd also try Paige Premium and AG straight legs. Lots of options!

Levis defined waist work well for me. As do Talbots and JAG jeans.

What's your budget? If you're willing to go premium, joe's makes some good ones. Try the honey (curvy fit) or visionaire (mid rise) cuts.

At a lower price point, Kut works for me too. I have to size down in them. Try Lucky too. I like the sweet n low cut.

Levi curves, don't size up because they give quite a bit.

I am looking for a good quality straight legs jeans with high to mid rise that fits well on pretty pears. Any recommendations?
I have been wearing GAP true straight for past couple of years and was very happy with it. But the fabric got very thin at the back and finally ripped last month. If I can't find anything else, I will still buy these again but I just wondered if there is any thing out there with better quality.
