Nothing irritates me more that not perfect fit in trousers so yes, take them to WW to make perfect (I still love the color and pattern to bits).
Just be careful about cropping then to the ankle as this will make them more difficult to wear especially in our winters. I would ask her to alter the sides first and then when this is done I would try to roll them up and see if it works.

It is a great idea. I recommend you take them to the tailor.

The trousers do have side entry pockets although I have left them sewn shut. I am thinking of asking WW to remove them and sew the seam shut permanently - I've had that done before.

Thanks ladies - I'll put them in the alterations bag with a few other things.

Yup. Take them to WW. Do the trousers have side entry pockets, Shannon? That will make it a trickier alteration. But the inner seam is a good way to taper them too. I'm sure the fit will be sorted just fine.

Definitely yes to a tapering in the legs and hips! As for length.....I'm unsure. I have real difficulties with ankle pants -- I feel very "big" and far from sleek in that proportion. You are, however, more petite than I, and they do allow shoes to shine.

I'm not an expert in alterations but I agree with you, they seem big, I would take them in all the way and shorten them.

Hubby and DS bought me these trousers for my birthday and I love the colors and pattern, as well as the fit in the waist...BUT...I find them too big from the hips on down and because of the nature of the fabric, they do not drape softly but rather "bunch" and fold. Then when you add in a bit of bagging at the end of the day, I end up feeling quite sloppy in them.

I'm thinking of taking them to Wonder Woman and having her take them in all the way from the hips on down as well as shorten them, to make them more of a slim fit ankle trouser which I can then wear with my black pointy toe kitten heels.

What do you think? Do you have other suggestions on how to tailor these to make them work better?

(I'm actually finding this to become a more common fit issue for me with trousers - my butt and thighs are slimming down quicker than my waist so in order to have trousers fit my waist, they are too big elsewhere.)
