Please don't feel self-conscious about looking in the mirror a lot or taking photos. You HAVE to do this. I just hope they don't *hover* over you. That's the worst!

I took pictures in the stores when I was trying to find my new glasses. And in fact in one store, the SA volunteered to take the pictures. She said lots of people do that.

Try on tons and post pics - I found everyone here very helpful when I was looking.

I also don't think picture taking will be a problem; I always say it's because I need to ask my "fashion consultants" and also because I can't see without my glasses! :p I guess that's why I need them!

I find it really important to look at the angle of the top line as it connects to the nose piece. I really need something that isn't straight-across. You might be the same way...it depends on your eyebrow contour. Once you get that figured out it might help you narrow choices as you're trying on.

I took pictures, too. It's probably pretty common. I'd like to see you try some that are this shape: ><. Sort of wider at the outside and narrower in the middle.

I guess it's not really helpful, but I think you have to try on as many as possible to find the best ones! I wouldn't be concerned about taking pictures and then leaving, I did that all the time last summer and it wasn't a problem. I even asked the sale assistants to take pictures of my favourite ones - I simply said I wanted to have pictures to ask some people about their opinion (I was alone in the store). They also noted down the different models for me, in case I would be coming back, so that we could find the right ones again.

What Ruth said and with these guidelines in hand :

http://corporette.com/2011/08/.....h-eyewear/

It's not a good idea to limit yourself at this point. Have fun!

My face shape is similar to yours. When I bought new eyeglasses this year, I ended up choosing frames that are in between oval and rectangle. My advice is to try lots of glasses on and see how they look. That's the only way you'll know. When you find the right pair, you'll know it. Good luck!

I need to book an eye exam and have a feeling I may possibly need glasses, what sort of shape would I need to go for?
If I do need them I'd feel really daft taking photos and leaving the shop hence why I'm asking for advice before I go in case I do need them. Have added a face shot for face shape purposes x
