I can't agree more! I'm a little busty, but not super big and double breasted jackets look horrible on me! Swing jackets also look horrible and make me look 9 months pregnant. I was looking everywhere for a fabulous spring green trench and everyone I tried on was either double breasted and looked awful or I just felt like it overwhelmed me. I finally picked up this one which wound up costing a lot less than I had budgeted and it looks great on me! Of course I've been in Chicago for a couple weeks and will be here through the middle of the month and it's not always warm enough to wear it. But I still love it! I guess the point of this is to not count out other types of jackets. I was dying for a trench, but this one worked out so well for me!

Single breasted styles are definitely more versatile and will suit any body type. They also look good when they hang open. Double breasted styles are lovely on the hanger but bad for busty gals and look sloppy when they’re left unbuttoned. Make sure that the buttons on a DB jacket are close together. They have a widening effect if they are positioned far apart.

Can any body type and age group wear a double breasted coat. I am 33, pear shaped, medium framed. I am interested in buying a coat for spring. I see a lot of selection in both the categories. I just was not sure if one would work better than the other. Thank you.
