For Kuts, I only have the Diana. I've also tried on the Catherine, and they fit well--I just don't like boyfriend jeans much (on me).

I concur with other that say find a good tailor. I get pants that fit in the full part of the hip and comfortable and have it taken in and shortened.

Thank you ma342, this is helpful info! Much appreciated. I wear signature fit in AT And the Julie pant at AT Loft....didn't know Gap had a curvy, and may check out old navy sweethearts.

I second the Kut from the Kloth and Old Navy Sweetheart recs. though I did have to get my Kuts taken in just a little at the waist. Some Kut washes stretch out on the first wear and then stop, but some don't stretch out at all. Read reviews of specific washes if you can before you buy.Old Navy always stretch out to some extent every wear, so buy something that feels a little small in store if you want it to fit snug enough later.

Gap Curvy cut are great, but the bootcuts are being discontinued. I think the skinnies are still available online.Gap Real Straight might also work, though the waistband hits in an awkward place on me (I am short).

Levi's 525 are one of the two jeans I've ever tried on that are *too* curvy for me. The other are AT Curvy fit (which I know you already tried). I wear AT Modern fit. Not all AT jeans stretch out badly, but it's hit or miss.

I should note that though I have an 11 in difference between waist and hips, I carry more weight at the high hip than in my thighs, so ymmv.

Thank you ladies for the input. This may give me the courage to give it a go once again. In the past I have not had any luck with page, joes, lucky brand gap or old navy. Haven't tried Kurt because I assumed they were like all the other premium brands and cut for those without curves. ,much appreciated. My other problem is mentally I can't accept the idea of paying upwards of $200.00 and then having to pay to have them alterer. It's just my issue. My mentality is if I am spending a good chunk of change on an item then it should fit right to begin with otherwise why am I spending hard earned money on the item that doesn't fit? Seems ridiculous to me. . My issue I know....

Oh...I reread your question...my boyfriend jeans are Joe's Jeans. Very old, but soft and comfy...they've lasted 3 years and are going strong, but they are huge in the waist, so I belt them and semi-tuck. Not flattering, but just flattering enough. I can post photos and links if you want...

I have a similar shape, small waist/big thighs, and I've been very successful with NYDJ. They are VERY stretchy and comfy, and I've yet to try on a pair that hasn't looked great! You can go to Nordstrom to try a few pairs, then once you get a good sense of your size, you can get them for MUCH less on 6pm.com. Size down...
p.s. I even found that holy grail item...white jeans! for $30!!!

I find pants impossible to find, and I currently don't own a single pair of work pants, mainly because I can't be bothered trying to heaps to buy a pair! But I am usually fine with jeans. I like Levi's Curve ID, and find they fit well and wear well. I also wear jeggings with longer tops and I have these in numerous brands, maybe they are more forgiving...

a plus size curvy girl chiming in. In recent posts I have talked about going jean crazy because I finally found the jeans that fit me. I also had not been jean shopping in 2+ years and only took on the task becasue my jeans were straight up ragged and not really wearable.

Mostly for all my pants I fit my backside and hips and have the pants tailored a the waist for a perfect custom fit.

It depends on how much tailoring you need for cost. Also if you do this don't let them dart the waist (the easier cheaper way) The best way is to redo the back seam. Find a good tailor who can do this and you are golden.

agree with thistle...find jeans that fit and flatter everywhere but the waist (or lenght) and have them tailored...wish i only pd 10/15...i pay much much more. but, thats the price to pay for jeans that actually fit and look good.

kut is a good one to try. joes. talbots. chicos believe it or not...just be careful at chicos w/ lycra/spandex count and size down a bit. levis. white house black market. not your daughters. i too have small waist and bigger hips and thighs and am on the short side too!!! i struggle with all pants and jeans and even shorts/bermudas.

good luck on your search. it takes time, but, the right pair/brand will jump out at ya eventually.

Find jeans that fit well through the hips and thighs and take them in to be tailored at the waist. Seriously works like a charm. I didn't believe others when they told me this until I tried it It's a $10-$15 alteration in my area.

Not Angie, but I can relate. Finding jeans is tough, no matter your fit issues. You are not alone!

I have similar measurements to you, along with a long torso. Saddlebags/thighs are my fit issue. The brands that work for me are AT curvy, Lucky, Jag, Big Star and recently and surprising to me, BR, which I think is because the rise is now higher. KUT from the Kloth boyfriend jeans have also worked but I have to be very careful about the lower rise. There are a lot of light blue colors out there right now so lots of options to try.

Can you get to a bricks and mortar store or will you be shopping on line?

AT & AT Loft curvy fit, Eddie Bauer's curvy fit (both denim and trousers), Banana Republic Jackson fit, Kut from the Kloth (available at Nordstrom among others). Target has a curvy fit in their Mossimo (or is it Merona?) jeans, I think it's cut #4. Gap used to have a curvy fit but it might just be online only now. Old Navy Sweetheart fit.

There are a lot more suggestions on this recent thread: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-of-thighs

Today's topic of selecting white jeans triggered a question and issue I have struggled with for years. I am a curvy body type.....waist 26" and hips 38"...I have difficulty finding pants, let alone jeans that fit my small waist and ample hips. I own very few jeans because I have yet to find a brand/style that fits well. Are there any particular jean brands or styles you would recommend for my body type. I get frustrated when I take 40 pairs of jeans into the dressing room and come out with Zero. I haven't shopped for jeans in about 3-4 years. I do own a pair of skinny Ann Taylor curvy jeans (dark denim and white skinnies (A.T.) but they bag out every time I wear them. I have jean "envy" and wish I could find a pair of "boyfriend" jeans (in a mid blue color) and a better fitting pair of white jeans and or boot cut pair. I am tired of the skinnies, although I rarely every wear jeans.
