What is your favorite Adidas Shoes
I thought I would get this one started, I have 4 favorite shoes of adidas but in all honesty I love all the styles that adidas has made to date. My favorite Adidas Shoes are:

Adidas el dorado's (fleetwoods - Hi )- I have em in the black purple and white but the best are by far the OG colour way that came out when Run-DMC were signed in 1986 (Red, Balck and White for life).

adidas forum's (mid) - These were the first sneaker I ever bought simply due to the asthetics of the shoe. I have em in the OG colours of red and white. delicious!

adidas superstars - enough said.

adidas ecstasy's Hi -If I were ever chosen to label a shoe as an authority of sneaker pimpin class, these would have to be the shoes. From the gold chains on the laces to the vast adidas sign on the back in all its golden gliter glory, these shoes if you got em should be worn with the swagger of James Dean.

May your kicks be fresh and your collection grow strong.

What an interesting question. I look forward to hearing what Angie says.

For myself, I'd probably spend on foundational items that would last, that I would love, and that I'd wear constantly: a pair of perfect skinny jeans (maybe two--dark wash and grey), a pair of perfect bootcut jeans, a knee-length winter coat (red please!), a fall/spring jacket, a blazer, a great (but not designer) bag or two. If there was money left over I'd add in a denim jacket and some colored cardigans and camis. Those are the major holes in my wardrobe at the moment, so that's where I'd want to focus. I'm OK for shoes at the moment, but if I weren't, I'd probably prioritize those because I have fussy feet.

Personally, since I don't have any big gaps in my wardrobe currently, I would spend it on a couple of investment pieces, such as beautiful jackets and blouses. I'd also be tempted to get a nice watch or handbag.

Finally, I'd also want to upgrade some pieces to a better quality/fit version; for example, now that I am wearing my black-black Express skinnies very often, I'd be interested in getting a premium pair, since the current ones are slightly faded, a bit too big and the rise is too low.

Antje, I think your situation is common--not buying things that few people are going to see (bras, skivvies, socks, pjs, and robes). If we have a few extra dollars to spend on clothing, we want to spend it on things the world can admire and be noticed right away. I don't invest in pjs since I sleep nakie. And aside from my bra obsessions, I just recently started to buy new skivvies and socks--a few at a time.

Honestly, if someone just handed me $1000 to spend on clothes, I'd probably spend the first $200-300 on some very unglamorous basics/essentials. I'd buy a nice pair of PJ's (I don't own any, and feel extremely un-fab around bedtime and in the morning!), a nice bathrobe that's both cozy and flattering, new bras (my current ones still fit okay but they are old and frayed...), and finally new underwear and socks. It's all badly needed, but somehow I never seem to want to spend either the money or the time (or both) to shopping for those things! If I had that extra cash, at least one excuse would be moot and I'd really feel I should invest in this area of my wardrobe before going out and buying anything else.

I think it would mostly depend on lifestyle. If you're a college student getting ready to enter the work force, you might want to invest heavily in work appropriate attire, and a great interview outfit, leaving a small percentage of your windfall for something fun and frivilous.

If you're more established and already have a functioning work wardrobe, you might want to invest in a few pieces of higher end apparel that you might not othewise be able to afford. (I think I would fall into this category).

If you're a SAHM, you might put the bulk of the windfall in items you can wear day in and day out, and splurge a small bit on an evening dress or hot momma shoes, or a knockout purse (to take the place of the diaper bag you've been carrying around for 3 years!)

Thats a very interesting point to think about. If I suddenly had a bunch of money to spend on clothes (yippee!! ) I would first take a look at my existing wardrobe and purge it of stuff thats really not being used any more. With the remaining stuff then you can always figure out. If you threw out a lot of bottoms then keep major part of your budget for those. Personally I have a rotating budget i.e the amount of money I spend on clothes shoes accessories etc is decided at the beginning of the year and then based on the season , sales and availability of my favorite stuff I split the budget equally and buy. for example I love boots and the current time is great since winter is near over and lots of sales are on. Similarly end of fall is a great time to pick up dresses. I have found my best winter clothes at the beginning of spring. However this is considering you are not particular about following the latest trends.

Let's say you suddenly have and extra $1,000 to spend on clothes. You don't need any one specific item, you just want to freshen up your wardrobe. Is there a good breakdown as to about what % you should spend on different items, ie: dresses/skirts, tops, trousers, shoes, accessories etc? The money amount could be any, really...I'm just wondering what a good breakdown would be if you want to cover all your bases. Or should it just be personal choice?
