Yes you can, with caution.

With a sheer top would be my pick.

I think the rest of the outfit needs to be more covered, and it could look great.

I don't think bras are for show during the day through one's clothing.
At home fun cute lingerie with boyfriend or other is a different thing, but I don't want to see it

I think it all depends on the coverage of the bra and waist area. First, you need ample boob coverage in order to peek-a-boo it through under a see through shirt, bra or jacket. That way it looks like a garment and not an item of underwear. Then, you need ample coverage from the navel down - say when you wear a very sheer blouse. Make the effect look more like a bra top. Hope that makes sense.

I love pretty bras. Enjoy.

Gigi I can't believe you remembered I had this same question last summer with the red Agent Provocateur bra. I think some bras are made for show, and mine was one.
Tams, I wore my red bra topped with a thinner strapped navy cashmere tank that scooped down to reveal the red satin at the bust. The straps showed too since they were thicker than the top's straps.

The effect I was going through that night (July 4) was sexy and a bit daring (for me!). I haven't worn it that way since, but one other way I tried that red bra to very "quiet" effect was to wear it under a very tailored blue and white striped shirt. I unbuttoned down to where just a peep of red showed in the cleavage.

Mind you, I only would wear my bras like this in the company of my husband!

At home with those who will appreciate it? ;)

Visible lingerie in public is not my personal style, but if it's yours I say try it sometime and see if it works for you. Maybe for evening, at a concert, or similar type of place, rather than at an office job or the grocery store.

I think this is dependent to a great extent on body type. A woman with a smaller chest can get away with a bit of bra showing without it looking overtly sexy whereas a more well-endowed woman can more easily veer into less friendly waters. I don't think there is a one size fits all answer to this question.

A few things come to mind....My favourite would be to wear it under a sheer tops or maybe with a modern jacket with just the bra underneath. Let the bra peek through. Or maybe under a loose, half buttoned up, buttoned down. Or for home use, wear it on its own with pyjama bottoms or some sort of sports luxe pant. I'm presuming you have the right body for this look!

I think karymk had this question a while ago...she had bought a beautiful deep red satin bra, if I remember right. Maybe you could look for the thread--I think it was at least a few months ago--or send karymk a message.

For me I like wearing pretty underwear as my secret and not for show. I agree that a flash of rhinestone bra strap would still be tasteful.

I'm not Angie, but I personally think a little bit of a pretty bra strap showing is perfectly acceptable.

I'm not sure if there's a way to make showing side bra or full bra classy, however. You could wear a pretty bra beneath a sheer top in a way where the silhouette of the bra shows -- if do that in a way that looks intentional, it works.

Why spend so much money on gorgeous, rhinestone bejeweled bras if they're not for show? I'd like to know how to tastefully wear these beautiful bras that, in my opinion, are meant to be seen! Are there any ideas out there as to how to get away with a little exposure but with class?
