She's wearing tapered pants - which works well with a voluminous top. The pleats aren't for everyone, but I think they work on the model. As Ele suggests, I'd probably prefer this top on a tapered grey pencil skirt. I think it's probably the length at the front of a top that dictates what it can be worn with, regardless of what's going on in the back.
