It isn't so much the cushioning as it is the toe box area. Square toes are not in right now. I have a square foot like some of the Camper shoes. I have Earth shoes that are fine on my toes but they make my back hurt. I rarely find sneakers that work so we will see. Diesel had square toed ones that fit my square feet but they are dated. I am too vain to wear dated shoes, even if they are comfortable. Converse chucks hurt me &amp; my Ash virgins do less but still do. Regular shoes that are usually comfortable here in LA hurt as well. It is mostly due to corns developing between toes. My feet are wide higher up the foot where my toes are. I don't mind lack of arch support nearly as much as my painful corns. I have leather converse mary janes that are comfortable so maybe I should just stick with those. They seem too casual but so are athletic shoes I guess. I like fashionable light weight nikes on others but don't think they fit my style.
