Oh, wait - Gap outlet 'always skinny' are nice too, but I still have to size up to fit the hips. I've come to live with the gape in the waist.

Btw, I read these forums every now and again for advice, but for some
reason it's always the curvy jean posts that draw me in to comment.

I'm also curvy - very pear shaped. My favourites are CJ Faith jeans - a straight cut that really fits well. I've also had good luck with Loft curvy jeans, although they don't fit as well in the waist because I have to size up to fit my hips.

Good luck!

I like Kut, J-Lo and Levi's curvy.

I have tried NYDJs, and while they fit well, I HATE the tummy panel. Hate it. Probably wouldn't have noticed it before I had kids, so you mileage may vary.

I will say that Levi's curve ID fit best, though they don't always have the best color selection. Gap jeans aren't thigh friendly, if you have that going on. They never pull all the way up (you know, riding low in the crotch) because the thighs aren't truly cut curvy, so your legs get stuck. It's awful, and deserves a dressing room try on to be sure they'll fit you correctly.

Ann Taylor jeans and also Banana Republic fit nicely.

Overwise, Gap Curvy fits, and Levis Curvy fits are worth a try. AT Loft is good too.

Thank you Beck, Angie and Marilyn. Will try the ones you mentioned as well.

Angie, I've had no luck with NYDJ. The rise is way too high on me and they are not flattering. Any lines that carry actual curvy cuts that you can recommend? Again, I'm a size 6-8 and I'm 5' 4". Thanks!

I'm a curvy petite. I am slim with curvy hips, bum and thighs.

I'm a big fan of the Gap Curvy Boot. I have them in both dark wash and medium. I've read that they are being discontinued which is a shame.

For skinnys I'm having good luck with Gap's Always Skinny. They have also just introduced a Slim Straight fit. They are super stretchy and hug my curves without feeling constricting.

I bought a pair of curvy jeans from Ann Taylor (two-tone skinnies) during their sale that are actually loose through the thighs on me while fitting at the waist (OK when I put them on, bit big by the end of the day). The only other jeans that has ever happened to me with are the Levis Curve ID Supreme Curve, but I think they were discontinuing that? I have a 16 inch difference between hips and waist at a size 10; I've had good success with Lucky's curvy cut, I just bought a pair of True Religions that are pretty great, and Kut from the Kloth tend to fit (but I think it's down to their super-stretchiness). My sister couldn't buy jeans to fit from the age of about 11 through to last year when she stocked up on the Levis Supreme Curve on a visit to the States -- she's got an even more pronounced difference between hip and waist than I do.

Thank you for both of the very informative posts above. Lots of things to try this week:)
I should mention these are what I'm wearing right now, but I still do a lot of hike-your-jeans-up-wiggling and I have to size down to a 2 or 4 from my usual 6 or 8:
http://www1.macys.com/shop/pro.....wash?ID=15
I also have some KUT boyfriends, but I've just about decided that those are doing my thighs no favors and they may need to make a permanent exit from my closet. They are just so comfy though. Maybe they'll become my "home" jeans.

What a good question!! I have tried many brands of jeans looking for the right proportions. It's the waist I have such a hard time fitting. The hips and butt look good, but the waist is always too big and slithers southward during the day. I hate doing the hike-your-jeans-up wiggle. So. Annoying.

Gap Curvy Bootcut and Gap Curvy Skinny fit my little waist-big booty (bootie? or is that just the shoe?) shape. Yes to them both. The dark wash fits truer to size for me, the lighter wash is a little roomy. If they are being discontinued I might cry a little.

Old Navy Sweetheart bootcuts look and feel great for about 15 minutes and then the waist stretches out and you need to hold them up with 2 hands. Great price if they can work for you.

Loft has some pretty nice curvy styles. I have only tried the Premium (I think? Not the regular fabrication but the other) bootcuts and they are FABULOUS. http://www.loft.com/supreme-cu.....lse&s They do not stretch out at all, and they look fantastically sexy. I got them half off so they were also very affordable. I'm wanting to try some of their other curvy styles like the coated black moto jeans.

I've had some Levis that work, like the 529, but my goodness they are kind of frumpy. I mean, they're fine. But they don't make my butt look it's best, and that's what jeans are for, right? ;-)

Also not Angie, but a fellow curvy person, size 8-10. Caveat: my thighs are pretty average--I carry weight in my hips/rear/lower abdomen. Here are the (fitting) jeans I currently have: Gap Perfect Boot, Gap Curvy Boot, Gap Curvy Skinny (I think these are being discontinued), Kut from the Kloth Diana, J Brand Maria, Levi's 535 Mid Rise Skinny.

Jeans that have worked for me in the past: Levi's 529 (these are actually *too* curvy for me now), Levi's 515, Lucky Brand Sweet 'n' Low, Lucky Brand Classic Rider, Gap Long and Lean, Old Navy Sweetheart (bootcut only--the skinnies don't work for me, though they might for someone who carried more weight in their thighs), Citizens of Humanity flares.

Hope that helps!
