Looking forward to it Angie! I love how you look in your scarves, and maria's comment about size helped me to understand shy some of my scarves are orphaned: they're too skinny for my frame. So I choose mastery of (Angie's) basics first, creativity second!

Oh,yes! Help us, please! I am not interested in being *creative* with my scarves. I'll save that for something else in life.

But I AM interested in some tried and true techniques for being pleased with how my scarf looks with: a shirt collar, a tunic collar, a turtleneck, etc. depending on whether it is rectangular/square, oversized/normal sized, crisp/limp, silk/linen/rayon/wool, etc.

Thank you (in advance), Angie

We all have our subjectivity, right.. after all, beauty is in the eyes of the behold. If I see an outfit with scarf, I don't care how a scarf is tied necessarily, but how it mesh into the overall theme of the outfit. As long as there is harmony, the all is good.

Scarf tying is an especially subjective thing. For this topic, I do have my strong dislikes and prefer certain scarf looks only. This perspective is not going to go down well in the blogosphere since "being creative" with a scarf often scores you more approval than it actually looking fab! Although "looking fab" is subjective. My point entirely.

But I can do a post on how I feel about the scarf tying. I'm warning you though - it will be quite opinionated with little room for creative movement!

I third it! And even though I've read the post on it, I still don't fully understand how to cut the fringe off without making the scarf look odd...

I loved reading about your recent shopping trip with Maria from CMH. She mentioned that you said that a common problem with scarves is that they can be too small, and that the fringe can make them look 'boho'. I've read back over your previous posts re scarves, and would love to see an updated Scarves 101 post covering choosing and wearing scarves......thanks!
