I used some jeans I already had that were in good shape but not a good cut on me, or you can easily thrift some that fit at the hips. Put them on inside out, pin (or mark) up the inside seam so that they are as tight as you want them to be, and be sure to leave enough of an opening at the bottom so that you can get them off and on. Then sew along that inside seam where you pinned and ta-da! Skinny jeans! There are a ton of tutorials online so you can get more detailed directions and some pictures. It was an unusually cold, wet winter, so boots, long scarves and puffer coats got a workout. I didn't wear my vest much. It was just too cold. A sweater dress is so cozy on a cold day with boots and tights.<br /> For alternatives for tops, how about the denim shirt? Also I've liked wearing the long sleeved Sweet Pea tops over a tank or a long sleeved tee when it's colder.
