Thank you! I do wear American Eagle jeans, and after I have the waist tailored they fit pretty well on me. Their low rise falls just two inches below my belly button; it's more of a mid rise on me, but better than anything else I've found. I tend to prefer a closer fitting trouser because I'm an inverted spoon shape, but I will try on a few pairs of looser pants with a belt and see how I like that.

I am looking for low rise pants because I want to be able to tuck my shirt in. Whenever I wear anything mid rise and tuck, I look like I'm all legs. My torso is very short and my chest is slightly larger than normal, so I need a lower rise to balance out my top half.

Thanks for the suggestion, Amy, but if the Express pants fit mid rise on Angie, who has a proportionate torso, they'll probably seem high rise on me. I appreciate you looking for me though!

I don't find the Express Columnist low rise. They are more mid rise on me.

Have you tried Express trousers? They are described as low rise; unfortunately, I don't see a measurement for the rise on the website.

Thanks for the kind words about YLF, and lovely to see you post on our forum, L. Mo.

Have you tried wearing trousers looser with a belt so that the rise falls lower? That's a modern and fashionable fit - and one way I prefer to go with trousers from Theory, Elizabeth & James, Marc Jacobs and J.Brand. I also always tuck or faux tuck to show the length of my torso. Proportions are more flattering that way to my eye.

As far as jeans go, Try American Eagle.

Hello! I love your blog and have been following it for about a year now. I had a question for you since you stated that you prefer low rise pants in general... I've realized recently that I'm very short waisted, and that low rise pants flatter my shape better than anything else. Most low-rise pants fit like mid-rise pants on me... that is, when I can find them. I have only found one or two brands of jeans with true low rises (most that say "low rise" are 8.5 or higher, which is too high on me). And forget about trousers! I've been looking and looking for low rise trousers, but no luck. Do you know of any brands that sell true low rise trousers out there? I would very much appreciate your recommendation!
